I make a small tea before bed, keep it by my bedside, and drink it if I wake up early (which happens a lot). It helps to use really hot water when making the tea. Yes, it has an interesting smell... a NATURAL smell. Folks, if you can't handle that, take a pill already! But then, when you take a pill, you don't know what actual dose of Valerian you are getting (one reason cited why studies on Valerian often have mixed findings). I can't quite describe the smell of the raw product which is strong, but the smell and taste of the tea is fine. I don't find it bitter or unpleasant in any way.

I cannot be happier with my purchase! I got 10 different herbs from Biokoma and they came fast, 3 days before estimated standard shipping. All herbs are smell nice and look good. All have expiration dates on a back (I appreciate this information very much!). I even love the package design! I also received comlimentary notepad and two pens! Thank you so much! I like Valerian alone (without other herbs) for relaxing and staying asleep. It always works for me. So many sleep teas have mint which I like to avoid. Many years ago when I started to drink it, I thought it smelled yucky, but now I don't mind it and I don't mind the taste which I think is a little bitter. This particular brand has some "sticks" but they are small and I imagined them to be smaller roots.

Valerian root is wonderful. This worked perfectly in a tea-ball. Best sleep I've had in more than a week. This vendor has it packed nicely. Fresh and potent. Arrived early and I woke up refreshed before my alarm. Thank You :)

Not the highest quality Velarian root I have purchased on the internet, but it’s not bad. Decent value. Put it to you this way, if I was having valerian root for the first time I would be satisfied. But having had some real, fresh, HQ organic stuff before, this stuff didn’t really compare.Wife says; “Im not saying it’s bad, it’s just not the best I have ever said”She was talking about the tea, I swear.UPDATE: just made some of this Valerian root tea for my wife’s boyfriend, he says it’s just okay too.

Helps me relax and stay asleep. And after awhile just grabbing a pinch and chewing it doesn't taste so bad.
