Perfect toy for my shih tzu, and fun to watch.
I buy these for my dog. She is a ShihTzu and chases it all through the house, spins it round and round until she’s panting, holds it in her paws until she gets her breath, then starts again. I always buy two, and when I give her the last one, order two more. It’s so funny, and keeps her exercise up and her weight down while providing laughs for anyone who happens to be here. The price keeps going up, but I keep ordering them. It is so worth it.

Nostalgic
Absolutely what I would expect from Schylling! It's great quality, feels durable like an old Schylling top would feel like, the colors are bright and fun, it spins perfectly, and I do hear the hum that brings back childhood memories! The price is perfect for what you get as well.

Pretty good. Nice simple toy.
I was concerned as to whether the 5" size would be big enough and it's fine. It's a good substantial size for my two kids, aged 1 and 4. It spins pretty well if push the plunger down several times in quick succession. Thanks to grandma who figured that out. (hey, she played with plenty of them as a kid)Once you get it going it makes a neat metallic whirring sound sort of like a hovering spaceship. It's not super high pitched or annoying. Tolerable to my ears. The reason I deducted one star was that the bottom piece is plastic. Most of the toy is metal and overall it seems pretty well made and like it will last a while but the bottom piece seems like it may wear faster than the rest.My one year old chews on the handle, he likes watching it spin and even kind of tries to push down the plunger. My 4 year old can get it going but he's not really coordinated enough to get it going really fast or balanced.

Tons of fun!
Lots of fun! Though, I'll need to buy another as the kids fight over it.

Spinning tin tops are so much fun! Easy to use for 3, 4, 6 and 8 yr olds grands.
Great as a gift or to keep at home for when grandkids come for a visit. Well made andhighly recommend. Great gift idea if you have a child who likes to watch spinning things. Get several and see who can get theirs to spin the longest! Great fun for all ages! Highly recommend and would buy again in a heartbeat. And actually, I've already purchased three! We took one with us in a bag up to a fall parade on main street and the kids, 4 and 3 had fun spinning as we waited for the parade to start! Would be great to take along while waiting for a doctor's appointment.

Difficult to make spin
It does not spin well. Two 5 year olds, my granddaughter (30 something), and myself, were trying to spin it, and could not get it to work as it should. I remember having them as a child but did not have any problem making them spin. You have to have it perfectly straight before letting go to make it spin.

Not durable
Came apart way too soon

Smaller than expected
This is going to be a Christmas gift, so I don't know the wear value yet , but it's a nostalgic toy for me. It spins nicely and has the classic whistle noise when it gets going. None of the electronic music I saw in some of the others I looked at.
