Cult American comedy directed and written by Jared Hess. In Preston, Idaho, the High School is launching the elections for class president. Napoleon Dynamite (Jon Heder) is the school geek, brutalised by the jocks, stuck living with an eccentric grandmother and an internet-obsessed older brother, and best friends with the newest kid in class, Pedro (Efren Ramirez), a Mexican immigrant. Napoleon conceives the idea of getting Pedro to run for class president, and he's prepared to use any means necessary to win against evil teen-queen Summer Wheatly (Haylie Duff).

Many laughs a minute
This is middle America as I imagine it to be! A group of hapless misfits who nonetheless share the American dream, or at least their version of it. John Heder in lead role of Napoleon is just brilliant. He carries the story as it drifts through days in his excruciatingly monochrome existence through the glorious Idaho backdrop. Jokes and humour come thick and fast yet many piquant moments in between. A great film uniquely American.

Pretty much the funniest film ever made........
Ok i have to say that this is by far and away the funniest film i have seen in a long long time. The film follows the seemingly melodramatic everyday life of a geek by the name of Napoleon Dynamite, who basically lives in his own world of mythical creatures and medieval warriors. The film is focused around Napoleon and his brother Kip, who is you regular 32 year old sit at home on the internet super geek who dreams of finding his soul mate in the perilous world of cyber space. The other main characters in the film are Napoleons friend, Pedro, the new mexican kid at school who just so happens to have a sweet bike, and a moustache. Then comes Deb, the love interest, who is the classic example of the geek girl, weird hairstyles and fashion sense and last but not least, Napoleons Uncle Rico, who is still living in 1982 and cant let go of how if he had played in a football match his team would have "taken state".The film follows Napoleons adventures, some of which include a visit to Rex Kwondo, a local self defense club. The school prom and the best of all, supporting the campaign trail for Pedro Sanchez to be elected as Class President. This film is just amazing, some people just dont get it because it is rather slow paced and the comedy is more character based than just plain old jokes and gags.I have watched it around 10 times since i bought it 13 days ago, and everytime i find something new to laugh at, in fact when i have had a couple of beers on a night out and come home and stick it on, i find myself laughing the ENTIRE way through the film. There is just so much to laugh at, Napoleons general attitude and conduct, not to mention his dress sense ( the t shirts are just the geekiest things you will ever see ) and the mind blowing finale to the film where Napoleon unleashes his secret weapon to aid his buddy Pedros elction speech.I have waited so long for a film like this, if you are a fan of tv stuff like The Office or The Smoking Room, i can assure you that you will love this film, and will find it possibly becoming a part of your everyday routine. Sweet!!!!!

But My Lips Hurt Real Bad!
This is my first review on Amazon, and what a film to choose! The story revolves around a young Napoleon Dynamite (Jon Heder) a social misfit with no friends, no prospects, no skills. It follows his struggles at home, at school, and for a brief few scenes his struggles while working on a chicken farm...do the chickens have large talons?!I had heard a lot about this film and had been told that it would be up my street as my favourite funnies include Anchorman, Family Guy etcAll I can say is I was blown away by this film. It might have been due to the fact that I could realte to it. I'm not saying I'm a social misfit and I'm pretty good with a bow staff, but everytime I've felt left out or on my own I could relate it to this film. If you can't relate to Napoleon, you can relate to some of the characters, whether it's his brother Kip, Uncle Rico, fashion guru Deb or the hapless Pedro.Americans tend to be poor at writing subtle, sarcastic comedies, but this is an exception. The way the actors hardly move on screen to the witty one-liners, this film will have you in stitches. So don't listen to D.G. Cochrane below, he doesn't know what he's on about! Watch this film, judge for yourself, chances are you'll watch it over and over again and will repeat the catchphrases whenever you can...."What you gonna do today Napoleon?" "Whatever I feel like I wanna do, GOSH!"P.S If you thought the dance scene in American Pie 3 was funny, you ain't seen nothing yet

my review
People may say that there is no funny parts in it. They are clearly oblivious to the subtle comedy moments and awkward quirks in this film. A great story and good family film, but i suggest you watch with teenagers, not kids. The story is about a high school boy ,Napoleon, who is an outcast to the social circle. He has no friends but a Mexican boy called Pedro who expresses himself more through actions. These two have to make class president but its difficult when no one likes you! Don't watch this if your a sad loner who has no time on his/her hands. Watch as a group or family. That's all, I do suggest buying. You can watch this time and time again and not get the feeling of an repetitious film. Great buy.(be on the look out for vote for Pedro shirts they are amazing ^^)

Pretty Good
One of my friends recommended that I watch this film, so I took his advice and bought it for fairly cheap (around £4 I think, bought it a while back) and I did quite like it, rather funny.

So Funny .....If You Get It
A lot of people will think this film is pointless. However if you have a certain sense of humour you will find the film absolutely hilarious.I am one of the people who found it hilarious. Yes the film is stupid and there isn't much of a story there, but that isn't even the point. It's just good wholesome clean fun. Just to point out as a side issue there is not a single instance of bad language in the entire film and that is a rare thing these days. The films is basically about the geeky types who are usually the butt of the jokes in the normal "teenage" films. I found it refreshing and thought it was extremely well done.....it's right down my street.I have my napoleon Dynamite talking pen and calander displayed proudly in my office........(I can't wait for the next film to come out)It's not a very long film to be honest so check it out to see for yourself if you get it. You may get a laugh and if it isn't your sense of humour then at least you can say that you've seen it.
