A series dead before its time
I loved this series; light, frothy, fabulously bitchy, it's everything I never knew I wanted.James VDB is a revelation as James VDB; he's hilarious and has grown into his forehead nicely.5 stars!

Review for the show - not the DVD
Awesome performance by the beautiful and talented Krysten Ritter and the equally awesome James Van Der Beek (Dawson) playing her best friend, a hilarious parody of the actor himself.Krysten plays Chloe, a kind of sociopathic, untragic Holly Golightly, a New York party-girl who starts the series receiving a new room-mate in apartment 23, June (Dreama Walker), whom she initially tries to screw-over (can I say that on Amazon?). June is a slightly naive middle-american girl with dreams of the big city but she soon discovers that there are people like Chloe out there who would eat her alive. June's perky attempts at friendship and sharing are met with Chloe's light-hearted party-girl flippancy and shameless honesty. The comedy comes mainly from Chloe's outrageous antics, her unsympathetic attitude towards others and JVDB's mockingly high-flying A-list celebrity lifestyle and inflated self-image.Dreama Walker's character is likeable if a little grating in her peppiness (it's how she is written) but the show really works if only as a vehicle for Krysten and James to be hilarious. If you like dry comedy, sarcasm and smart one-liners that whistle by at a break-neck speed and are tired of formulaic sit-coms with laugh-tracks, you really might get a kick out of this show. I really hope you do.And as if you needed more evidence that this is a great show, and not some brainless willy and fart-joke series, note that it was cancelled half-way through season 2 after a mere 26 brilliant episodes.

They always cancel the best ones
To be honest, I can't top the spot-on review by John Colman, I just want to add my voice saying this show is fantastic. Genuinely laugh-out-loud funny.I'm signed up.... PLEEEEEASE hurry up and release this on DVD. Or better yet a box set of the whole series.Or better better yet, make more episodes (not sure Amazon can help with that, actually...)Suffice to say - HIGHLY recommended...

A feast of quirky and fearless humour
Hats off to Mr Colman for his review. That says as much as you need to know. This is simply an affirmation and enthusiasm for a series that managed to be vulgar, sophisticated, incisive and downright funny all in short sharp episodes. I enjoyed the way an episode would be starting off in one direction and then flip to end in quite the opposite; I would add that Dreama Walker's hyper-active alarmingly peppy June stands out just as well next to the other two classic performances. (And if you like the direly comic-strip inhabitants out of Chatsworth in Suburbgatory wait 'til you meet June's parents-always via Skype-).I've signed up for the DVD
