Excellent customer support
The train is solidly built. I like that it will operate on rechargeable batteries. The sound is a nice volume (not too loud) and the lights show forward and reverse direction. The "off" switch underneath the train is a nice feature. On the original train, the wheels did not turn, but customer support quickly made it right. Looking forward to playing with the grandchildren.

Surprisingly strong tow capacity!
We have other motorized trains (Thomas) and they're fun but they can't pull much beside the super lightweight train car they come with a maybe one extra, but any more and they struggle/stop.This bullet train initially surprised me by it being plastic - for some reason I expected wood, I don't know why. My child was irritated that the person sits in the 2nd car instead of the first and he kept trying to open the first car.But we quickly realized that this little train can pull his take n play (heavy die cast) Thomas trains with total ease! He had a solid 2 foot long train going with take n play, wooden trains, and wooden letter "trains", and it wasn't even slowing down!I am super impressed and highly recommend this if you have a train lover a d struggle to find a strong, electric one.One irritating thing is that the magnets are separate from the train cars. They're "dangle" for lack of a better word and it makes it hard to change the batteries/it gets in the way if the screwdriver is magnetic.

Outstanding toy!
The wooden train tracks are fun and all, but this toy engine takes it to another level! If you have wooden tracks, you HAVE to get this engine. My kids love it.

Super cute!
This little train can move! Now, granted, I'm comparing it to a 15 year old brio that is on its last legs, but this lil guy doesn't even slow down when you add cars to it!One thing I wish I known is that the sound everyone is talking about is just the chug chug sound, no choo-chooing. Not a big deal, I had just assumed. The noise does go on all the time, which means there is no secretly turning it off - the moment my son hears the sound stop, he runs back over to turn it on. Which, as another plus, is very easy to do for little fingers! So overall great little train!Edit: It ran several hours a day for two whole weeks before I had to change the battery!

Can (sometimes) climb hills
The media could not be loaded. Compared to the Hape (2 AAA battery) train, this thing goes seriously about 4x faster with fully charged batteries. Holds my attention much better (have not tried with toddler). But you're probably here for the answer I was looking for - can it climb hills? For slopes to higher levels, I have not tried, but probably. I have tried with a tunnel-and-hill design. Out of these, there are 2 varieties. Some do not have a connector half-way up the hill, and some don't. The latter are much better for motorized trains. One with a connection midway up the hill is https://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Classic-Wooden-Figure/dp/B000JNE658/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=figure+8+wood+track&qid=1581391527&sr=8-8, for this case, it hits the snag half way up, like the other train. But wait a while and it can manage! In order to get best results, I don't think there's any option other than chaining multiple trains together (which does work). That's why I still think they should put a magnet in the front. The battery compartment does not seem problematic so far. Design is very cute. Relatively large compared to other engines and cars (but not too large), with nice big wheels that sure help it stay on the track compared to the Hape one. Large buttons are really nice too.

Slowly falling apart
The train works reasonably well, if you've got more than a few cars behind it though when it hits a hill it will do a wheelie and stop going up the ramp. Noises were not what I expected, I thought I would get more of a Chugga Chugga sound. Lights are a nice touch. The screw in the back that holds on the battery compartment is a fairly soft metal, it's pretty much stripped out and I've been using the correct sized screwdriver in it almost since the beginning (when I realized it would strip out quickly). About a month after getting it, maybe 4-8 hours of use the train stopped making any noise but it still moves along fine. Another month and I realized that it hardly move anymore, there were some hairs bound up in the wheels - no way to fix this except taking the whole train part and cutting them off the axle. Not a bad purchase, I think it still wins out on the others vs the reviews I read on those. At least it's still plugging along.
