Very Different and Interesting-Tasting, I Liked One Variety, Not the Other
I love trying new foods/treats and this candy is definitely a new one to me. There are two varieties that come in this package, 3 packages of each. These don't necessarily look like typical plastic wrapped candies, but rather are dried and flavored plums loose in each package, with the seeds still inside the plums (so don't bite down directly in the middle). The first variety I tried, a dark red flavor, was shockingly sour, somewhat hot and slightly sweet. It made me make some faces, as well as my family members who tried it, but strangely, I liked it. The second variety was coated in I think aspartame, and had a flavor that just wasn't for me. I can't compare it to anything I've tried before, but it just wasn't something I think I'd crave. So, for me, I liked one flavor in a weird way, even though it was so sour, it was also kind of delicious. The second flavor just wasn't for me, it had too much going on in too many different directions for me to be able to savor it like it's meant to be enjoyed. Taste can be so subjective, so it's definitely not a knock on the quality of the candy. The 6 bags were nicely packaged in a gift-ready box, and would surely delight someone who grew up with this sort of candy. It's always interesting to try new foods, and I'm very happy to have gotten to try something I didn't grow up with and found that one of the flavored candy plums variety I would certainly enjoy having now and again. Thanks for reading.

Addicting
My Asian mom used to buy dried plums like these when I was a child over 50 years ago and I loved them, but couldn’t remember what brand my mom bought. I tried the brands sold in Asian markets, but they didn’t taste as good as I remembered. I decided to try this Hawaiian brand and whoopee, it tasted like my childhood treat! I have ordered these several times and haven’t been disappointed.

Aspartame flavor is overpowering, sweet, salt, sour, a lot in a bag, 1 inch each in size
Let me start off by saying I am not from Hawaii nor am I used to their snacks. I just wanted to try something different and because these snacks are similar to the southern cadies we have (salty, sweet, sour fruit) I thought it wouldn't be too different.Pros:*The flavors are so different in one candy. After the aspartame, you get a salty, sour flavor and if left in your mouth it becomes tart. The white ones are a little sourer than the red ones.*You get a lot in each bag and you get 3 bags of 2 flavors. (see picture- I put the entire bag on a plate before trying it.) There are about 40-60 but they do go by weight.*Love the packaging of the product itself. They had them in a thick cardboard box with a thank you notes and I had other things come with this that was damaged but this was fine because of the packaging the company chose.Cons:*The aspartame a=is just so overpowering that the sweet, salty, sour flavors don't come out as well. (I think if they had used sugar instead the flavor would have been much more balanced.*They have a weird metallic aftertaste that you only have after eating. Not during but after a few minutes.* They both say "Sweet Li Hing Mui" but there are 2 different flavors (see picture with ingredients) It can be confusing if you aren't used to the candies but you can, of course, see the difference in color.* The middle has a seed not really con but not a pro. This was more my fault for not doing more research on them before bitting down. (Hurt my tooth and yelled a warning to my family who were also biting down)Conclusion:*I wouldn't recommend this just because the aspartame is so overpowering and because according to the recipe they are made with sugar and only occasionally made with aspartame. I love the combination of flavors but that is only if I can get past the aspartame. I think just switching it to regular sugar would of been better. Now, this is because I don't like the flavor of aspartame (if you are accustomed to it (you use it instead of sugar) then maybe you will like these. In this can I would recommend them for you since the flavors are so crazy to run through. Salty, sour, sweet, tart. There are so many flavors on both. I will say that I feel like I am craving them even knowing that aren't really my favorite, so yeah they are addicting.**Disclaimer: I received this product free in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion (I have no contact with the seller nor does the seller know I am a vine reviewer before, during, or after ordering). Fresh and fast delivery!
The delivery was fast, well packaged and on time. Even with the COVID-19 pandemic going on we had no problems. Usually we have to wait to go to Hawaii or have family members send it to us so this was great. My son and husband love this stuff.

Made with Aspartame
I love li hing mui. However, I wish Jade Li Hong Mui didn’t have Aspartame in it.
