What a great jacket! This was a Santa surprise to me ...
WOW! What a great jacket! This was a Santa surprise to me for Christmas '15 and I've got a few rides on it already in weather from 31-71 degrees F.. yeah its been one of those winters here in Delaware. I received from Santa the x-large in Gun Metal/Black.My bike.. a super fun 2015 Yamaha WR250R dual sportAt 31F with the liner in, neck guard around, zipper vents closed and a set of Slider Quest gloves on over the cuffs this jacket kept me warm and comfy on a 1 hour highway ride at about 75mph. My body didn't sweat due to the Under Armour shirt I had on under it and that's all I had on under this jacket. At temps right around 70F I left the liner in and simply opened the zippered vents, tucked the neck guard away, zipped it fully up and went out for a mixed highway, side roads and a few back road trails and remained cool and comfortable. Removing the liner I can see this being a great warm weather jacket up into the 90s or higher while riding however obviously having to open it or removing it when stopped for any period of time at those temps.I haven't been on any wet rides yet so can't comment on that at this time. As for durability it seems to be very well built with strong and secure stitching. I see no reason at this point to think it will not last. We'll see as time goes on.Fitment is true to size. I'm a short 5' 8" heavier guy at 190lbs with a 44" chest and 38 waste. I typically wear an x-large shirt, jacket, coat and this in x-large fits perfect over a light shirt with room enough for a sweater or a heated liner for subzero temps. I'd say its a tad bit long for me but again, I'm shorter then most other riders. Still, the length isn't an issue for me and doesn't bulk up at all while riding. All the zippers are great and none stick or are hard to zip up/down/open/closed. The front main pockets are waterproofed and will fit an iPhone 6 Plus in a protective case though none of the other pockets inside or out will. The left arm pocket by the cuff is ultra small and I'd wished it slightly larger however for keys it'll work. I wouldn't plan on stuffing in any documents. The zippered vents in the piping are well made and smooth. The neck collar is soft and comfortable and stands upright nicely without drooping down. There is an inside neck wrap which can be zipped in or out and comfortably wraps around the neck in cold riding. Very nice touch for certain. I rarely shave and usually just use a trimmer for my beard so more often then not there is stubble. Other jackets I've found pull at my neck beard however this one hasn't which has made me very happy. Also, in the rear of the collar is a hidden hood which can be pulled out, put over your head under the helmet for added cold weather protection as well as to keep rain out.The shoulder and elbow armor are CE rated, removable and rest where they should. The back protector would be my only concern as it seems to be really thin and not sure if it is actually CE rated or not. For street use its likely OK where most of the concern is sliding however I'll be looking to replace the back protector with something a but more since I'll be riding both street and off-road with rocks, mud, branches, etc. Overall all the protective pads comfortable and suited for their intended purpose. The inside liner zips in and out and the liner extends fully down each arm. Each sleeve cuff of the liner is held in place with 2 fasteners keeping the liner securely in place. Also, each fastener is a different color making it easy to ensure the liner doesn't get fastened in while twisted, again a nice touch.Overall I'm more then happy with the jacket which is amazingly priced for a 4-season jacket with the included features! I don't do a lot of winter riding however I don't like the cold. I'm looking at a 2500 mile trip in very early spring this year and looking forward to seeing how this jacket holds up.Like I said.. really the only thing I'd like to see would be the left cuff pocket slightly larger. Possibly even having the inside jacket pockets a bit larger. Both trivial points and doesn't take anything away from the jacket at all. A solid 5-Star rated product at this point.Additional gear I ride with include the Arai XD4 Helmet (Black), Forma Adventure Off-Road Boots and the Slider Quest Cold Weather Waterproof Gloves. Solid quality gear.Now.. Just need to find a good pair of 4-season waterproof pants to match this jacket.UPDATE (4/11/2016): Still love this jacket! I've since added a "Klim D3O Viper T5 Pro Back Protector" cut to fit as a Level 2 back protector. Also upgraded the CE Level 1 elbow and shoulder pads to the newer CE Level 2 Klim D3O Pro X pads as well. Very happy with the great jacket!Update (7/28/2016): This jacket holds up fantastically! I've been riding with it this summer in 95+ heat with the liner out and vent open and while riding it allows a ton of air to blow through making longer rides very comfortable yet remaining safe with a heavy, quality jacket on for its added protection over lighter summer mesh jackets. Yes, when you stop for more then a few minutes you'll want to unzip it for sure if there isn't a breeze but thats to be expected. I've found zero craftsmanship flaws in the jacket and it remains fully intact despite some adventurous off-road rides and a couple meetings with dirt and even a gravel road mishap. The jacket was $270, added the Klim D3O Viper T4 Pro Back Protector at $50, the Klim EVO Pro X Shoulder and Knee/Elbow protection at $32 & $36 buck respective and I couldn't be happier with this jacket! Upgrading to full CE Level 2 rated pads adds a small weight increase however it fits me so well I don't feel it at all. It rivals most jackets 2 and 3 times it price and is an amazingly piece of riding gear! This is definitely a top notch jacket. I'll include their sizing chart here also as it seems to be true to fit. I was for me and two others I know who are wearing this now. Different sizes include L, XL and XXL and the sizing seems to be spot on.

Great jacket for summer, winter, dry, and (informed guess) for wet weather!
A few years ago I bought a leather jacket with armor for riding. That jacket has served me well, but unfortunately my mid-section has outgrown my jacket. I found this jacket a local shop, who was out of my size, so I hopped on my go-to source....AMAZON.The jacket is heavy, but comfortable. The first thing I did was remove the liner. I was worried that without the liner, the jacket would be too big. It is a comfortable fit with and without the liner.Since I am riding in 90+ degree weather, I opened up the vents, and went out to test it out. The vents work GREAT! When you unzip the vents, there are velcro strips that fold the flap back from over the zipper and basically creates an inlet for airflow. When you're sitting at a stop light, it gets warm, but not hot. As soon as you start rolling, it starts cooling again.I haven't tested out the weather proofing yet, but it appears that this jacket is going to be very weather proof! The main pockets opening is under the flap and zips up. So when you close the flap, it folds the opening over which will keep any water out. I don't think I have accurately explained it, but you'll see....it is a very well designed system.Overall, I am very pleased with this jacket. It is going to be very warm in the winter with my heated liner underneath it, but it is comfortable and light in the summer.I would highly recommend this jacket!

Better than more expensive jackets
This is a great and fair priced jacket, a little heavy, but it needs to be for all the protection and features that it has. Warning, my jacket (XL) was too small and I had to order a size larger (XXL, my size with all other vendors is either L or XL). It took many back and forth emails to get the issue resolved and Amazon backed me up with the intransigent seller. They finally changed their tune and made it up to me with free two day delivery on the larger jacket. I’m now happy with a proper fit of a very well designed and feature rich jacket. The jacket is as good as jackets that cost considerably more

Great Hi-Viz, good fit, and great venting.
Great jacket. Fits true to size, has multiple adjustments and perhaps most importantly, lots of venting in the front (and rear) for hot day riding. Comfortable and protective when all buttoned up. I might suggest replacing the back protector with better CE 1 or 2 material however. Great value too. Reasonable price for a lot of jacket. The hi-viz is very noticeable.

Best 3 or 4 season jacket under $800
Cannot say enough about this jacket. The waterproofing and venting are outstanding. I typically wear this from about 30 degrees F to around 82 degrees F. Comfrotable at the lower temperatures with a tee shirt and sweatshirt. Comfortable at the high end with all of the vents open and just a tee shirt. I have to go to a full mesh jacket when the temperature climbs to the low 80's and above only because of the heat buildup while standing still with the Transition 4.There are numerous storage options and the neck gater and hood are extremely useful upgrades to the Transition 3.My only gripe is the venting on the inner pockets has changed. The vents are still there and work the same as on the Transition 3, but they removed the extra strip of velcro that was used to hold the vent open. So effectively those vents don't work. Other than that it's the best jacket I've ever owned.

Sizes run a little small
Ordered the same size as the one I had but it was too snug. The seller was great and replaced the jacket with a larger one

Perfect Jacket
Perfect Jacket with great features. I am 5'7" and 150 lb and S fits me perfectly. I have searched quite a bit before purchasing this jacket and I can say it exceeded my expectations. I will get back with more info after tomorrow's ride.

Perfect fit!!
The jacket fit (large) is dead on! I am 5'8", 175lbs, 34" waist, 31" inseam. jacket fits me perfect, although it may run just a little bit on the snug side if any bigger than me. Very warm with the liner, but vents well with liner removed and vents open. Excellent cool, (cold) jacket.
