Leather Plastic Lined Burgundy Axe Sheath/Protector/Pouch

I noticed that many foresters wear an aluminum axe sheath. I wanted one even though some complained about the loud rattling that occurs as they move about. The axe has to be somewhat loose in the scabbard so it can be easily, quickly, and safely extracted and reinserted - thus the moving around and rattling.I bought one, used it for a day, and returned it. It performed great but it was too distracting and loud. The manufacturer agreed that this is the case and accepted it back after my slight use.Since I really need such a sheath I turned to this Weaver model. It arrived promptly and fits my axes nicely. Best of all it is safe and easy to use AND it is quiet. Walking through the woods is, once again, peaceful and calm.The Arborist scabbard is clearly up to the task and built very strongly, and from the right materials. While aluminum is harder and more cut resistant, I have no doubt that Weaver's plastic-lined model will outlast me and my future years in the forest. It is very well made and gives me great confidence. The leather exterior seems more harmonious with nature.The belt holes are slim and tight. Once I got things where I wanted them I felt excellent about the sheath staying exactly where I want it. Its been perfect when in use.I'm delighted with this product. If I lost mine I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

really thick leather and reinforced with rivets, leather work is top notch. super stoked to finally treat myself to a axe pouch so i do not have to hunt my axe down when i need to drive a wedge or gather gear after falling a tree.

Nice sheath

The sheath arrived on Christmas Eve after having only ordered it on the 20th. Very very prompt delivery considering the holidays, which is greatly appreciated. The sheath itself is very sturdy and crafted with quality leather and lining. The stitching is well done and the cut guards are positioned perfectly. I'm sure I will have no complaints in the field. The inside width is 8 1/2" and it fits my Ochsenkopf universal forestry axe (same axe as the Stihl pro forestry axe, just not rebranded) perfectly. My axe has an 8" width. It comes out and goes back in smoothly and does not fall out with jumping around. I even had my wife try to knock it out of the sheath and she could not (I'm a man and this is my wife's amazon account, hence the posting name). This sheath is perfect for a pro felling rig, farmer/homesteader, or even if you just like to carry an axe in the woods. I'll be coming back for more of Mr. Weaver's products before too long.

It's honestly heavier than I thought with reinforced areas and delren (ASA) like plastic spacers. It's not a bad weight. Buy part of it is that it's larger than I had thought, still holds my 2.5 pound Prandi Axe well enough. A bit loose, but good enough. The Weaver logo won't last long I don't think. But the rest of it should out last the Axe. XD

If you are spending the day felling trees, this is a must have item. Well-made and used by most professional tree fellers.

Made to last. True to size. Love the smell of the leather. Would buy again.
