Q: Is this DIFFERENT than the normal barkeeper's friend that comes in the gold can? It appears to be the exact same product, just different packaging?

Both products contain the same ingredients, but in slightly different amounts. The gold can is slightly more abrasive than the silver can; the silver can induces a somewhat stronger chemical reaction. Either one will work just as well on stainless steel pots and pans. If your stainless has a mirror finish it's better to stay with the silver can.

Q: can this be used in the inside of Le Cruset dutch oven?

I use this to clean my Le Cruset all the time and have had no problems.

Q: How does this compare with the newer Bar Keepers Friend Liquid Soft Cleaner which is less corrosive than the regular powder version?

I'm not a fan of the liquid at ALL! I can't even say I view it as an effective cleaner OR polish. It's much too runny for starters. I always forget that so it goes flying out too fast and too much. It seems to lack "scrubbing teeth"; doesn't seem to rinse easily or well; doesn't cut through grease; doesn't leave stainless steel cookware shining; ETCETERA. I just don't like it. I feel that it's just the powder with a bunch of water and a squeezer top added to make it feel more like a dishwashing liquid.

Q: Does this product work for pans with nonstick coating?

I have not used on the nonstick coating, only on my stainless pots & pans which look amazing after cleaning. I think it would harm the non-stick surface.
