Inexpensive Option for 3000 grit
I sand clearcoat to a minimum of 3000 grit before polishing. These discs are simply silicon carbide, and they don't last very long at all dry, somewhat longer wet. Still, they are so much cheaper than 3M Trizact discs. I still use a few Trizact disks on the average paint job, especially on the hood. Most of the rest of the vehicle gets these cheaper disks, run wet with an interface pad on my Aircat DA. Works like a charm.
