Extremely sturdy well made heavy plastic construction that makes this laundry basket feel a quality item. Finished in an off white almost ivory colour, this basket comes in two pieces, those being the lid, and the basket container. The lid is attached easily by means of a hinge bar which is slotted into place within a choice of two positions, this facilitates either side opening with the hinge placed on the left narrow side, or the more conventional front opening, with the hinge placed at the rear along the wider edge. Attaching the hinge bar is done so by slightly bending the supple plastic bar so that it locates into two holes, one either side of the hinge recess. All that remains is gor the lid to placed into its closed position, and a little pressure applied so that the lid clips onto the hinge bar. It may sound complicated, but believe me its so simple it only takes 30 seconds to do. Once you've made your choice of how you want it to open , your all done. It will hold a full 60 litres of washing, which is basically a good full load in your washing machine, so its very handy indeed. The top edge of the basket has been constructed of thick plastic around the carry handle area, making it sturdy enough to hold a heavy load of bedding sheets or blankets without breaking in the manner you would normally expect from cheaper more brittle plastics. So in summury this basket is very strong, very lightweight, very well made, and excellent value and quality. I've used plenty of laundry baskets during 26 years of marriage, and this one is far and away the best one i have ever used. Take it from me, you will not be disappointed, but you will be pleased by what a superb item you've aquired.

We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 young kids) and this is a great size for us as we create a lot of laundry - the fact it's got straight sides and the lid can be fixed on in 2 orientations means I have been able to pop it in a corner and still open it fully whilst taking up the minimum of space. The plastic is robust and has perforations in the sides to allow for air circulation, and it's really easy to clean inside if needed. Only slight downside is I ideally wanted white, white - this item is described by various sellers as vintage white, ivory and cream - make no mistake, it's cream/off white and consequently doesn't look right in my bathroom, so if shade is important to you, take note. Ultimately I needed a new laundry hamper so it now lives in the utility room instead.

It's a decent size and sturdy, lightweight without washing in. It's a good laundry basket and for price the quality is really good.

I bought this in Vintage White which is a shade of pale cream and was just what I was looking for. Looks good, holds loads of laundry, is ventilated, lid can be hinged in either direction - an overall good design. Very pleased. Have since bought a grey one to store some xmas decorations in a cupboard.

The basket appears well made, but it was shipped without the metal or plastic rod used to hold the lid in place. I could ask for a refund but then I'd have to source another box in order to return it.Great box, just a bit of a miss with quality control

Solid and sturdy, nice flat lid means I can rest the washing basket on top. My previous one was curved and the wasn't stable enough. The only drawback is the small plastic piece used as a hinge for the lid. Feels like it could break and I find myself resting it against the wall instead of leaving it completely open
