My six-year-old has SPD and is on the spectrum. He was having trouble remaining calm and focused in class. Meds are an absolute last resort for us so we are trying everything else, fidget toys, weighted vests/blankets, noise canceling ear muffs, chew necklaces ect. This vest has been a life saver! Many teachers and volunteer parents would comment on what a difference there was when my son came to school wearing his vest, he was like a whole new kid! The vest itself is well made. It is a thick jean material with velcro pockets built into the lining. You get 5lbs weight bags (like bean bags) my son is using 3lbs now and doing fine. We keep the extra bags around in case he needs a bit more. The vest looks like any other denim vest, my sons classmates would have never knows this was a sensory vest if my son didnt tell them :) He is proud of his calm vest thought and wanted to let everyone know it was helping him.

Item arrived quickly. I had ordered based on the age recommendations, and the vest fit perfect. But if my son grew at all, it would be outgrown. He is 5 and a half so I ordered the medium. But he is at 90% for height/weight so he needed a large. I contacted the company to exchange it and they were great to work with. I sent mine back and had the new one with in a week. We haven't really used it yet to know if it makes a difference for my son. But I think the effectiveness of the product is individual based and a review on that shouldn't alter your purchase. Anyone who has a child that needs one of these knows that what works for one kid doesn't always work for the other, and vice versa. The quality of the vest looks very nice and my son liked it the short time he has had it on so far. It looks like a vest, not something weird he wouldn't want to wear out. So I don't think we will have any issues getting him to wear it.

Runs small. My son is 5 and 45 lbs and unless he looses weight this will not fit him long. Works wonders, tho. It was hard to pay that much for children’s item but it works great to calm him and help him focus. Something to keep in mind when deciding between this one and the weighted compression vest is that not all kiddos like the compression but respond well to the weight. My son hates tight fitting clothing so this was great choice for him

Fantastic quality. Weights seem adequate. My niece is very proud of her clothing and we couldn't convince her to wear the vest provided in her school. So i decided to add a little extra glam to this one hopefully encouraging her to wear it. Vest itself is quite good quality, fantastic color, and well sewn.

I chose to buy this thinking a denim jacket would be more durable than other fabrics because this jacket was SO expensive. I received it Nov. 6. By Nov. 22 the button popped off. To have a weighted jacket made like this is disappointing to say the least. It should almost be indestructible given this is used for special needs.

My kid doesn’t mind wearing it (I added a few patches to personalize it), and many 4-5yo friends think is so cool that it is starting a preK fashion trend. Their only complaint is that regular jean vests are not as soft and comfy as this one. HiMy kid is a tall (44”) and thin (39lbs) 4.5yo and the size S fits well.

The vest is very thin (which may be what you are looking for) but it will not hold up well against usage by my students with Autism. Also, the weight is not heavy enough to meet my student's sensory needs. I was expecting a thicker denim material for the cost, but it was thin and flimsy denim and the buttons are not very sturdy. The size large was really a size 7-8 and did not fit the 4th grader, I initially purchase for. I was very disappointed.

this feels like a genuine jean jacket and i love that its a vest so my daughter can wear it with any of her outfits! the pockets are eveningly spaced out.i did have an issue that my daughter tried to unbutton it and the fastener popped right off. i contacted the company through Amazon's question for the seller and they sent me a replacement immediately at no cost.
