it might be wise to dilute this a bit before using it. It foams like crazy. It does seem to do well on stains, but if they are set in, that still may be a challenge.I have been using it on hoover carpet machine....not sure if other brands will have the same issue?

This works really well for cleaning up dirty rugs. It takes a lot, but I had a large Rug. I will be buying more. But in a larger bottle. The smell is not bad. Dries pretty quickly. I’m very pleased with the end result.
