Not bad.

The handles a little shorter than ideal, and the "slipperiness" of the silicone blade takes a little getting used to, but all in all it's perfectly usable. The blades got a nice amount of flex to it, that means you can press it to the side of the frying pan to make it conform to the curve and slip down the side of, for example, an omelette, which has never been an option on any of the previous wide spatulas I've had.So while not perfect, it's still a pretty good utensil.

Best Of The Poaching Gadgets **Plus Trouble-Shooting Tips**

I've tried all sorts of egg poachers, and this is the best of them, without a doubt. It comes closest to the traditional egg poaching method, and provided you use your brain, it works well. It's easy to clean and folds down to store in your kitchen drawer, too.The traditional method to poach an egg is to simmer a pan of water and whisk it round rapidly to create a vortex of water. You drop your egg in the middle and the vortex keeps it together long enough for it to congeal. The silicone cone of this OXO product replaces the vortex and does a similar job of containing the egg in the centre of your pan, under water. With both of these methods the one thing that's vital to know is that the fresher the egg, the better the result. Fresh eggs are nice and thick, so stay together. Old eggs are very watery and runny and are not suitable for poaching - this is one of the problems behind all the negative reviews saying the user ended up with egg soup. The other is their water being too hot: you want a light simmer, not a rolling boil, which will pull the egg white apart.CONCLUSIONIs this, or any other egg poaching device necessary? No - the vortex method is just as simple, and cheaper. But if you can't be bothered to learn the satisfyingly fun skill of whisking water and poaching eggs the traditional way, it's a neat product, and the best of the gizmo's on offer.

Enormous pancake turner

Pancake turner is solid, sturdy, and flexible … but it is enormous. It’s pretty useless to me as I was looking for a more generic turner for eggs, pancakes etc. Really only useful for turning large crepes in a large frying pan.The product images shown on the sellers site are misleading - shows a small American style pancake, also the product dimensions on the sellers site describe the size of the whole product from handle to tip of turner, which is also confusing. I’ve attached images showing the true size of the product (6”x5” for the turner part) so hopefully you don’t fall into the same trap as me.

Perfect poached eggs

Use vinegar, a very low simmer and fresh eggs. 3 mins on the timer + 20 seconds off the heat. Seems to be fail proof!

Not worth it, save your money.

Awful product. Have attempted a few times now and every time I've been left with a mess in the pan and an overcooked yolk! I've followed the instructions to the letter. I'm now outside the return period by a few days so can't even get a refund!

Brilliant

I have always struggled with poached eggs and have tried every contraption invented, as well as just swirling water and vinegar in a pan. All methods have their bonuses and their faults. I don't want my eggs to be too round like a boiled egg, I don't want them smashed into pieces or frothy, I don't want them to take ages to cook like the floating devices do, I don't want a massive cleanup afterwards or to find space for a large pan in my cupboard.I've finally found the right product for me, and here is how I use them:1. Add poacher to pan and fill with boiling water to the marked line.2. Add a splash of white vinegar and reduce heat so that the water is gently simmering (too many bubbles will move the poacher in the pan)3. Crack the egg in to the poacher and leave for 2 minutes4. Remove the poacher from the pan gently and leave the egg to finish cooking for the last minute or so5. Use a large slotted spoon to gently scoop out the egg and let the water drain/evaporate for a few secondsPerfect every time 🙂
