Superb value - excellent quality

These rasps have a much thicker than expected diamond coating, which stays stuck on far longer than I'd imagined. I was shaping a 40mm thick slate slab to make rounded corners, and also form some deep rectangular cutouts. The expensive diamond jigsaw blade, which I tried to use to sharpen up shape of the the internal right-angled corners after the diamond disc, lasted about 60 seconds - as a result of which I bought these. I finished the entire job - about an hour's work in all - and the first blade showed no signs of wear at all. I then used it to cut plaster and brick when putting in some double pattress boxes, got the neatest result I've ever had, and still no real wear until I got lazy and tried to cut through a metal plaster bead - which finally killed it when it glowed red hot, so fair enough really. My daughter wanted to nick one to use as a pendant - they really are very glittery. If I ever manage to wear out all three blades, I would immediately buy these again - the value is a rare find these days, and genuinely expands the range of usefulness of of my multi-function tool. Unreservedly recommended.

Grout removal blades

Quality blades direct from the manufacturer. No issues and they get the job done. A good value for money offer too.

Used in soft (victorian) brick and worked well.

I used these as I needed to chase in a 35mm double back-box into a brick wall in a victorian terrace built in 1900. These old bricks are much softer than modern ones, and these worked really well for the job. I found that it was better to keep moving the blade around and cutting lengths deeper and deeper rather than making plunge cuts directly, as this cleared the dust out of the channels and allowed it to cut much more effectively. I also let the blade cool between cuts. I did the entire back-box and a cable chase of around 40cm with one blade and didn’t notice any significant wear on the blade.I can’t comment on harder materials, but I’d think it wouldn’t be great on the gears in the multitool anyway. I’d use an angle grinder with a dust extraction shield for chasing in concrete etc.The price for 3 of around £20 was good for the quality.

Cut through a tile with no problems

I purchased these for a specific DIY job - that being to create a bigger gap between the tiles over the bath and the bath itself. (Thus, giving me enough space to inject sealant into the gap). II was nervous that the blade might crack the tile - but I needn't have worried - as it did the job perfectly. They seem to be very good!

Not very robust..

I only needed to cut a small amount of resin based grout. The coating on the blade wore off after a few seconds use so I resorted to wrecking multi-material saw blade instead, which did the job quicker. This is not as robust as a diamond angle grinder blade, which I was expecting it to be similar. Nor is it as good as a Saxton carbide blade which I have used in the past. The "diamond" seems to be just glued on rather than embedded so it can't get heated or abraded too much before it becomes just a "scraper" blade. On the plus side, they fitted into the tool easily. Held in place securely. Wibbled about OK.Maybe the first one was an exception, if I need to use the others and they are better I'll update this review.

Worth having

Removed floor grout no trouble, care needed to avoid tile damage but did what I hoped they would. Useful shape too for getting into awkward areas. Glad I invested in them, blades didnt wear down quickly either.

Effective for cutting into existing house bricks.

I decided to try these after having very limited success cutting into existing house bricks for electrical metal socket boxes with the straight edge type. Same house, same brickwork, different room and I found the end corner shape of these Sickle blades easily cuts deep into brickwork far more effectively than when using the straight edge type. which just bounce of the bricks and wear out quickly. I was well surprised ... and very pleased to cut out 4 double socket boxes with ease with one blade in half the time it took with the 3 straight edge blades to complete the job and then still had to use a lump hammer and chisel to get deep enough ... and this blade still looks like it’ll do lots more!

pretty good blades.

these blades helped me remove grout joints in tile floor of approximately 3 metres squared. tiles are 300 x 300 mm. grout joints approximately 5 mm. I had to use 2 of the blades to complete the task. the blades are ok for the price I suppose.
