I ordered this sim card to use during a trip to China. My iphone e-sim is still locked so I used a cheap unlocked phone as a hotspot with this sim card and it worked perfectly. Upon receipt of the sim card I registered on their website before I left the US, as instructed. Once landing in Hong Kong I turned on the phone and activated the hot spot, worked instantly. Was able to use in Hong Kong and then when I crossed into mainland China I just had to restart the phone and it connected to Chinese networks. Best part was is the service is based in Taiwan, so while in China I was able to access all the restricted apps without issue. 20GB was perfect for 17 days of travel as long as you don't overuse tiktok and pokemon go HAHA. Only thing to note is when you are on high speed trains, you may have to restart the phone every once in a while so the network resets, I think they move too fast and the service can't keep up. Will get this again for my next trip.

it was activated and working when arrived in hk. Just restart the phone should do to turn it on. That part was easy. Was using it every day with gps and the 10gb data ran out after approx. 4 days and sim card stopped working, Couldn't use it in Macau probably due to no more data but card just deactivated itself. My advice if visiting HK , you can buy a lot cheaper sim cards there, seven eleven or places that do money exchanges.This card doesn't come with a phone number either so if you are using apps that need to authenticate your cellphone this card won't work for you.unfortunately,it doesn't call or have yown number.but data service was swift and easy to use no data failures.

Purchased this SIM card for traveling to China and HK this week. When I received the SIM card, the plastic package was sealed, however, the brown paper envelope inside the plastic package was opened. The SIM card just sit loosely inside the card holder, but not even fit in the card holder. I am afraid that the SIM I received is not the one supposed to be in that card holder.

No need to speak chinese or talk to anyone with a translator as long as you activate the sim 2 days before you travel you won't have any issues. You might need a voip service if you would like to call anyone in the US but that is fine. The manual for the sim is inside the package for the apn you just need to have an unlocked phone.
