BrosTrend AX1800 WiFi 6 Linux WiFi Dongle
Really good. Good stable speed (410+ Mbps) and only very marginally down on a direct cable connection with the router.Had an issue with slow boot-up (Zorin-Linux 17 OS). If the usb dongle was connected during the boot-up process my desktop would take a long time to boot. If the usb dongle was disconnected during the boot-up then it was quick as expected. A quick email to BrosTrend Tech-support and they solved the problem (Thank you Tech-support). Solution was to run `sudo update-initramfs -u`and then my Zorin system booted up quickly as before. Overall very please with it.

Blazing fast, easy install, might buy another one for my wife's PC!
Really impressed with this device, not only does it look like a spaceship contacting mars but it also gives me blazing fast speeds when I am quite far away from my home router. My home router is 1200mbps and with this device across the other side of the house I get 850mbps which is pretty impressive given my old wifi USB dongle only could max out 400mbps.I've installed it on both Linux (PopOS) and Windows 11, both getting full speeds now. Did have to do a slight driver configuration on Linux because it defaults to USB2 only (you have to change a setting in a file to turn on USB3 mode) but the BrosTrend documentation walks you through this.Would buy again and I might buy again

Excellent Linux wifi adapter
Arrived on time and is slightly larger and heavier than expected. It appears to be well constructed and solid.Follow the instructions to download the driver. I was swapping from a 10 year old usb dongle, so my desktop was already connected to the internet. It was straight forward to copy and paste the command line directly into a terminal. Select the option you want from those offered as the terminal executes the commands, then once complete plug the Brostrend adapter in.To get it to work you will probably need to go into the wifi optioms in the tray and select your wifi connection. There is an option to change the hardware being used... mine started with the letters wx8.... all worked from that point onwards.Only downside (loss of star) was that I sometimes have the machine hang when I go through the boot process. Unplugging the usb for the unit lets in start up and then I replug when logged on to my area. This only happens with Pepperminy OS for me. I have a dual boot system with Linux Mint and there are no problems with the Mint startup.Happy surfer, speeds in my home office area have risen from 35mbps to 130mbps.Would recommend this item!

NOT linux compatible
Shockingly, despite the liberal claims of linux compatibility, this is NOT linux compatible. There is a custom driver provided on their website, supposedly, but the website seems to just lead you around in circles to a PDF and back to the same page, but having to build third-party code to get hardware working hardly counts as linux-compatible anyway. There is another, more open source, morrownr/USB-WiFi project that lists this device on github, but it lists it as a BAD option, with very limited compatibility, and bad even out of the limited compatibility options due to its windows-like multi-device usb drive (for windows drivers) plus usb wifi design. Basically, this is NOT a recommended device for linux, and Mediatek Mt7921au-based devices are recommended instead.

Amazing internet speeds and great customer support
I recently got upgraded to 1gbit broadband so I bought the AX1800 wifi adapter to make the most of the increase in bandwidth. I'm using it on a desktop PC located in a different room from the router. The computer is dual boot with Windows 11 and Kubuntu Linux. Initially I was getting between 800 and 900 mbits on Windows 11 but less than half of that on Linux. Thanks to Brostrend's excellent Linux support I was soon getting the same speeds as Windows 11 on Kubuntu. I emailed their support and the problem was sorted in a few hours on the same day. Very happy with my purchase and very pleased with Brostrend's customer support.
