Q: How do you make use of the 10 year guarantee? It's not obvious and mine does not work.

I had the same problem. I contacted Le Creuset, UK. I explained the fault and they confirmed that the problem was a manufacturing issue. Once they confirmed that the device hadn't been subjected to misuse, they shipped out a new unit. The customer service team were great.
