Dangbei really surprised me. This is such a great projector!
I finally took a deep dive into the projector world and this is my first projector purchase. For the price, it's all excellent bang for the buck. 4k, Google os, 3D capable... The ability to get a 200" screen. That is so big! I managed to get mine to a 153", which is a 12 foot screen! It's awesome! That is with the projector 14 feet away from the wall. If you have the right room for it, you could have a 16.5 foot screen in 4k! For less than $1,500 (that's the price with the roof mount included). It's well put together and all parts are solid. Nothing is perfect of course, but I don't have any gripes, really. The only little thing that bothers me is that the remote doesn't have a mute button on it, but you can talk to it and ask it to mute. Like I said, any gripes are very minor. I know what I bought, and I can't expect it to be more than what I paid for. And It's an extremely great value.Really though, it's converted me from ever wanting to buy a traditional TV, ever again. It has the life span of the normal LED, OLED, etc. tvs, and such impressive picture!!! It's so sharp. It hooks it up to the sound bar and gaming consoles just fine, and is plenty bright with some blackout curtains. The images I uploaded are during the day with blackout curtains over one set of windows. If I put curtains over the rest of the windows it has really bright imagery. Any sun in through a window will dim your picture, whether it's a TV or a projector. The projectors are affected more by sunlight, but worth it for evening viewing. If you're adamant about watching tv during the daylight, you'll need the curtains for sure. Like all projectors and tvs, it does wash out in direct sunlight, but then again, what tv doesn't? Some tvs are better at resisting sunlight, but for everything you get with a projector, it's worth adding a way to block out light IMO.My family and I have loved playing video games and watching movies together in our own home theater. It's out of the way when not on use, and looks really clean. With the projector, I don't ever have to deal with a big tv and it's mount anymore. It's such a clean setup. If you don't want to ceiling mount or wall mount it, the floor stand works great, and the auto focus is excellent. Just move it where you want it and it'll fix the screen and resolution for you. It isn't fool proof, you need to have some common sense to use a projector, but it's really smart about getting the screen correct for you. But in essence, move it further back for a bigger screen, closer up for a smaller screen. If you place the projector to far to one side or the other of the wall (or screen) you are projecting on, it starts to affect screen quality, and it tells you if you are getting too far over to the side. It's not rocket science.Very clear 4k picture, excellent color quality, excellent blacks, and it has hdr10. We'll be playing with 3D capability soon. The sound is only ok coming from the little projector box itself. It's probably fine for most people, but I always use a sound bar so I don't worry about that. It's decent for the small speaker, but no tv has adequate sound if you really like home theater sound quality.Seriously though, it's worth every penny. Even if you can only get the projector set up at 8 feet away from the wall, you'll still have a 120" screen. Everyone that has gamed or watched something on it have been amazed at the picture quality. We feel spoiled having such awesome technology. I will be buying more dangbei projectors. Projectors may not be for everyone, they aren't as easy to plug and play as TVs are, but I wouldn't say it's hard.I don't ever want to go back to regular LED/OLED TVs if I can avoid it. If you're looking at laser 4k projectors. Get the Dangbei, you won't regret it!

Spectacular Picture Quality and Great Features
If you're seriously considering purchasing a laser projector, then you should read this entire review to make an informed decision. It's my first time ever that I'm writing a product review. And I must also say that I was not offered any promotional purchase to write this review. So, let's start:First of all, if you're interested in a 3D projector, then it's not for you. It does have a 3D feature, but it's of poor quality. See details towards the end of this review. I rated this product based on my interest in purchasing a 4K laser projector. I already have an Epson 3D 1080p projector since 2009 which is great for 3D movies. As of now, 3D movies are not played as 4K, those are 1080p. So, Epson serves me well. Now, let me give you my rating for each feature:Startup * * * * *Picture Quality * * * * *Brightness * * * * *Audio Quality * * * * *Auto Focus * * * * *Keystone Correction * * * *Streaming * * * * *Documentation *Customer Support * * * * *Pros:1. This projector has amazing picture quality and brightness. It's quite superior to that of my Epson projector. The picture is very crisp which is expected from a 4K laser projector.2. Additional features like auto focus and auto keystone correction are great. There can be some improvement though. It was nice to know that these features can be adjusted manually for fine tuning.3. The audio quality (the sound from projector) is also impressive.4. The other good thing is having many streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Hulu, and Disney+ all installed in one place. You don't need a separate streaming device for this purpose. I watched a few movies over Netflix and Prime Video without any issue at all.5. In response to my queries, the customer support provided me the following information which you may also find very helpful as it's neither available on their website nor in their manual:" - 12-month Warranty: We offer a 1-year warranty service. If the product encounters any quality issues under normal use, we will provide free repair or replacement services.- Lifetime Technical Support: At any time after your purchase, you can always contact our technical support team. We are committed to providing you with professional technical support and assistance.- DBOX02 is a DLP projector using ALPD 2.0 laser as the light source. It does not use a lamp.- The life span of the light source is 30,000 hours.- As it is a completely enclosed projector, it doesn't need complex maintenance effort. "However, at this point in time, I cannot verify any of this. So, I've given you what I was told.Cons:1. The documentation is poor. It does not describe the features like how to fine tune the auto focus or keystone correction manually. So, you have to experiment with those things on your own. If I may suggest to the supplier, providing a detailed manual in print or digitally can improve their sales and reduce returns significantly IMO.2. I have a Marantz AV SR 7008 9.2 channel receiver set up for the surround sound. When I hooked it up with this projector, I couldn't get the sound of movies being streamed on the projector through the receiver. I tried both ports of the projector (HDMI eArc as well as HDMI In) without any luck. The customer support worked with me very patiently for about two weeks, but the issue could not be fixed. They claimed that the projector was working fine with a Denon's receiver on their end. So, it's possible that there is some incompatibility of my receiver with the projector. Luckily, for me that was not a big issue as I watch movies usually on my 4K player which also has the streaming apps. So, the sound goes to the receiver and the video to the projector (through the receiver), and everything is fine then.3. The 3D quality is poor. Note that you need to buy 3D glasses separately. First, I thought the 3D glasses that came with my Epson projector could work but they didn't. The seller sent me two pairs of 3D glasses as a courtesy which I appreciate but the picture quality is not good at all. Further, you have to change to the 3D setting in the software manually every time you want to watch a 3D movie which is a hassle. The software should be able to detect that a 3D movie is being played and switch to the 3D mode.Bottom Line:If you don't want to watch 3D movies, this projector is for you. This projector has a very crisp, bright picture and very cool features like auto focus and auto keystone correction. If you have a surround sound system with more than 5.1 channels, then you should have a Blu-ray / 4K player to enjoy movies in a full surround sound system.Considering all things together, I wanted to give this product an overall rating of 4.5. But since there is no option to select 4.5 stars, I decided to go with 5 *s due to the superb customer support that I experienced for more than 3 weeks to resolve various issues.

Highly Recommend For Cost and Quality
After using this projector for two weeks, I can confidently say it’s a true upgrade from my Epson 5040, which served me well for seven years! The brightness and clarity are impressive, especially considering the compact size of the projector and its lens. Content quality does make a difference, so I tested both 4K Blu-rays and digital downloads, and the improvement in image quality was unmistakable. As others have mentioned, adjusting the settings requires some patience, and navigating the menus can be a bit tedious. However, once you find the optimal settings, the picture is stunning—it even makes me wonder how much better higher-priced projectors could possibly be.That said, I do notice the "rainbow effect" fairly often. My Epson used LED technology, and I’ve avoided DLP projectors in the past due to unbearable rainbow artifacts in models I tested over a decade ago. With this projector, I still see rainbows during credits, bright scenes, and even when I blink or move my head slightly. However, I’ve gotten used to it, and it’s a small trade-off for half the cost and twice the quality.Once the system software is updated (I had to update twice to get the latest version), the 3D functionality works impressively well. With my Epson, ghosting was a frequent issue, which eventually discouraged me from watching 3D content. But this projector has revived my interest! The Dangbei brand glasses were initially confusing to set up; when I first tried them, the 3D image was reversed, with foreground objects pushed to the back. I didn’t realize that a quick press of the button on the glasses switches the left/right perspective, correcting the 3D effect. The detail is as good as you’d see in a theater. Highly recommend!
