Good Radio, easy to nagivgate, minor sound issue
The Radio has been really nice for listening to Air Band from my backyard while I BBQ. AM and FM work fine. I wish it has the same memory scan/cycle function the D-608WB has. The D-808's implementation of it isn't as useful. You have to push the button every time you want it to go to the next channel in memory. If you long press it will just re-scan all the channels in memory. For the most part though the controls are easy to use and not too much long press/short-on/off pressing to do for all the functions. Battery life has been good and the alarm clock function is more reliable than my smartphone. The fact that the radio only displays in international time (24 hour) is actually a plus. The wire external antenna it comes with works good. With it I can start picking up the airport tower even though the 8 miles of suburbs and shopping malls in between me and the airport. There is some distortion/resonance about half way up the volume scale. It goes away as long as you are above or below that point on the dial. It's annoying but it's minor enough I can live with it.

Can't step or rotate through memories but excellent performance and compact.
From a purely performance perspective I rate this radio as a 5+ considering it's price range. Sensitivity, selectivity, frequency resolution, frequency stability, audio quality, and battery life are all excellent. The multi-level bandwidth feature is unusual in a portable receiver of this type and it works VERY well. The audio quality is very good, especially with quality earphones which are NOT included. FM RDS is a nice touch. The manual is utterly microscopic and you WILL need magnification to read it, BUT it is written in good English and not Chinglish and is fairly easy to comprehend. I suggest zooming in with your phone and taking pictures of each page of the manual. One advantage to being small is that it will fit inside the protective bag with the receiver so that you can easily take the manual with you. One of my rather unique needs was coverage of the 10 meter ham band from 28 to 28.300 MHz and this radio does that. I knocked off a star because of the tedious memory recall function and the gap in coverage between 450 KHz and 520 KHz, which admittedly are features that most people won't care about at all but they were important to me and not well explained in the ads. The memory is mapped by band which is OK with me but you are limited to 100 memories per band and I wanted more on SW. To save a memory you select the band and frequency, then press PAGE, 0, 0 (long press), to save a frequency and mode in memory bank 0, memory location 0. To recall that frequency you must go to the band where you stored it and press PAGE, 0, 0 (short press). It works and it is fairly intuitive but wouldn't it be SO MUCH BETTER TO BE ABLE TO STEP THROUGH OR ROTATE THROUGH THE MEMORIES????????!!!!! Yes it would!! It is impossible to remember where you stored 500 frequencies. It blows my mind that that feature is non-existent on this radio which is otherwise excellent. The air band is a nice touch but there is no ability to SCAN air band channels that are programmed into memory. The squelch feature is a very nice addition specifically for the Air band. The ability to change the step size is also an awesome feature. The pig-tail antenna wire is a nice addition and it really works. One thing that was unclear in the ad was whether or not you can tune between the 9 Khz steps on longwave which not all portable radios can do. I am happy to report that it does have this capability and you can use SSB on Longwave. For example I am able to tune in the local NDB on 338 KHz and use SSB to enhance sensitivity.

A very well made and capable radio
Very good on all bands with performance that is equal to more costly to other Chinese radios. Note: short wave performance in the home is generally poor for all radios due to a multitude of noise sources. Stepping outside doesn't negate the problem. You have to find a relatively rural environment away from the multitude of noise sources in the world we inhabit. The short wave listening hobby is not what it was. That said operation on local AM and FM bands is probably is probably better than any radio you own.

Puntos a mejorar

SOLID Performance in a Small Footprint
I bought this radio primarily for monitoring air traffic and so far the performance has been as expected. The product arrived ON TIME, out-of-the-box set up was straightforward and operation of the device is quite intuitive. Overall I am pleased with my purchase after about 7 days of regular use. So far, so good . . . good value for the cost.

Good radio.
Very happy with product, It doesn't take 5 because the manual is ridiculously small.

Great starting radio. Most bang for your buck
The media could not be loaded. Attached video is a religion broadcast from Madagascar, 8,800 miles away!GREAT RADIO-hello I live In USA Ohio and wanted to give some insight on this neat radio that I've had for 2 days.-The FM works great (can get stations over 100 miles away)The AM (MW) is acceptable if your outside. (The radio does NOT use either of the external antenna options for AM (MW) it uses an internal antenna for AM ONLY)-SW- Incredible quality! I've heard broadcasts from Madagascar (East of Africa), China, Spain, Cuba, France, and even Australia (very faint due to propagation) but it's thereAirband- the airband is great I've heard hundreds of transmissions so far, most very clear.SSB works excellent- use it to drown out powerful stations to focus on smaller ones or find ham operators. The battery- Lasts about 30 hours if you never turn off the radio (40 hours with upgraded batteries)100 is a little steep for a radio but this one comes with all bands and is very aesthetic. You can't find a radio that has as as much functionality as this one for under $100
