Q: What exactly is in this stuff?

Q: How much yeast nutrient per gal. of fermenting wine do we use?

I don't make wine, but normally I use about three teaspoons in a 6 gallon ferment and it really takes off. My ferment finishes much quicker with the nutrient. I am also very careful with my PH!!!!

Q: is it ok for moonshine

I have only used it for making beer however moonshine is nothing but beer or wine that is distilled so i would say yes it will be fine . It is food for the yeast. I do not know what kind of yeast is used in moonshine but all yeast can use a little nutrients to get them going good.

Q: How much YAN does Fermax add if I add the recommended 1 tsp per gallon? The split between organic and inorganic nitrogen would be great, if known.

Thanks so much for asking. The composition of Fermax is 40% Dipotassium Phosphate, 40% Diammonium Phosphate, 10% Yeastade (autolyzed powdered yeast) and 10% Magnesium Sulfate. The percentage of organic sources of YAN is 10%. Thanks!
