Good concept, boils fast, but has design flaws
Much more efficient, and therefore much faster, than a basic car kettle. The insulation and steam valve keep the heat where you want it, in the kettle, rather than steaming your car.An 80 W / 120 W power setting means you can use the kettle in cars with less-than-beefy electrics, but still take advantage of higher power if it's available. It loses some stars because of some design flaws that give it a "Version 1.0" feel.First, the steam valve is a safety hazard. When you open the lid and release the pressure, water can instantly boil up and scald your hand. Not good. The makers have belatedly added a little sticker advising you to loosen the lid when the water reaches 90°C, which works, but it's not really a satisfactory solution. I'm considering just taking the valve out and letting the steam escape freely through the pinhole. The second flaw is the poorly designed base. When I put it in a cupholder, the wire is bent 90° in a tight space, which can't be good for the wire. Also, the connection to the kettle doesn't look robust. All told, it's still a good product, but when I place it next to, say, the Black & Decker car vacuum cleaner I bought at the same time (which is excellent, by the way), it seems underdesigned and overpriced. I'm in two minds whether to keep it, or to send it back.

Great idea - bad manufacturing.
Loved this and it was brilliant for about 3 uses. Then the cable going into the base wouldn’t connect. The unit fit well into my cup holder which had a space for the protruding cable I made sure that nothing was in the other cup holder so sadly I think this is a manufacturing fault and design. Shame as I would have used it a lot and now won’t buy a new one.

Great for our road trip to the French Alps
I bought this for a road trip down to the French Alps in February half term. It's fab. To start off with the water has a 'new' odour, just like any new kettle, so I boiled it up about 10 times before the trip and then it was absolutely fine. On our road trip we had endless coffee, Pot Noodle, Oat-So-Simple, cuppa soup and even a Lemsip! I only used this product to boil the water; using other insulted mugs for the coffee. It takes about 12 minutes to boil. I highly recommend this product, it saved is so much time and money on our road trip. It's definitely a keeper.

Boils fast
Boils really fast. Fill up with water and in 10 15 min. you have enough boiling water for a large cup. It's well insulated and well designed peace. But the thing I like most is that I can set the temperature and the kettle will hold that temperature. So my drinks never gets cold. Wery pleased with the purchase

Hot drinks anytime and anywhere!
A superb item for hot drinks in the move.Have you ever gone on a long journey and by the time you get there you've either run out of hot drinks or they've gone cold. Then this is exactly the item to solve that problem. It's essentially a kettle for a car or van ... Just fill with water or hot coffee and let this practical item keep it warm or warm it up for you! It's a great item for camping too as it runs off a 12v socket so can be used anywhere and everywhere. The cup detaches from the base so you can use it as a flask too ... Simply brilliant!

Easy operation and simple design
Since I am in possession Water Heating Cup for Car family car trips with children have become a pleasure. Easy operation and simple design make the kettle irreplaceable during all trips that my family likes. There is nothing better than freshly-seasoned coffee or a nutritious porridge for the youngest prepared during a stopover.

Go careful!
Being a man (yup, that was sexist) I don't usually read instructions, because I how to work everything! However, on this occasion, prompted by other customer reviews of the item, I chose to read them. There is reference to not filling the flask / kettle too much to avoid spillage / scalding, so I followed the instructions to the letter. I have just used the product for the first time. Apart from initially (when opening the package) it striking me as more "Chinese" than I had hoped, it worked extremely well. However, despite my following of the instructions, when I gently opened the flask / kettle after the first boiling, there was initially a hiss of steam, that I thought would be the pressure releasing and making the flask / kettle safe to fully open. On doing so, boiling water spurted out in all directions over the car seat. Fortunately I was stood outside of the vehicle, leaning in, so avoided a boiled belly. The product really does seem very good, but it's a bit of a boiling Russian roulette when opening. So, a week later I decided to use the flask / kettle again. However, this time I would be taking extra care when opening the lid once boiled. After 20 minutes of it being plugged in, the temperature reading was only 48 degrees. When I pulled over into a lay-by and took out the instructions, I confirmed that I had set the thing up quite correctly. I then followed the instructions again and drove off. The flask / kettle quickly returned to 50 degrees and after a few minutes dropped to 37, before reaching 60 degrees about half an hour later as I arrived at my destination. No error code was shown on the device and when home, I read the instructions again to confirm that I hadn't missed anything...nope. The device was faulty. I went onto the Amazon site and returned the item yesterday for a full refund (a smooth & painless process). I have today placed an order for another. I think this could be a great product...time will tell with number 2.

Very happy with it
If you travel or drive a lot for work then this would be ideal for you. Saves me a fortune on buying coffees and tea from the shop. You simply put the water into the heating cup and plug it into the 12V plug and wait for it to heat up.The device is good quality in build and seems like it is built to last for a long timeVery happy with it
