needed a 3 way 100 watt instead of the 150 watt... put in an older lamp... no issues... pricey,, light bulbs are nowadays... buy two !! be prepared !!..

Just what i needed, good ol regular incandescent three way bulbs in the brightness that i use. I had tried a CFL bulb, not 3 way, and i hated it, the light was kind of off color and depressing, not bright and warm, and when i would turn it on, there would be a delay in the light coming on, and every time, even though i used it for a year or two, it always triggered a bummed out feeling that my bulb was dead and i'd have to replace it. Then it would come on and i would remember that CFL bulbs do this. i got tired of this and got incandescents to replace it. When i was unscrewing the CFL bulb, because of the curly shape, it slipped out of my fingers because of the difficulty grasping the curliness. It hit the table the lamp was on on the way down and broke, glass went all over the wall to wall carpet behind the big heavy table. great. i would have to get behind there and pick it up and somehow get the vacuum cleaner back there. I knew that these bulbs have mercury in them and i wondered if there was some special way of cleaning it up so i looked on google. OMG. This was serious. All the various government and private websites i looked at said to open all the doors and windows and leave them open as long as possible, the longer the better. This was a very cold winter day and i'd been enjoying the coziness of my house. The websites also said to dispose of the glass after getting all the mercury powder off the floor and put it in an air tight jar, then take it to a special location where they take hazardous waste. Hazardous waste?? It said that on carpet, you should cut the part of the carpet with the mercury in it out and dispose of it at a hazardous waste place. Cut piece of my wall to wall carpet out??? It said DO NOT VACUUM IT, it will contaminate your vacuum cleaner. It said if some gets on your clothes, dispose of the clothes, do not put them in the washer/dryer because the mercury, being a heavy metal, will be attracted to the metal of the washer and it will stay there and will contaminate all your other clothes. I was feeling so alarmed and mad. They are selling people these things? They are making people buy these? And no warnings on the label, for example, a warning telling you to not put it in a lamp that is over carpeting because of risk to the carpeting? Or warnings not to vacuum it? Or that you have to take it to a hazardous waste place to dispose of it? And this is in my HOUSE? And it said DO NOT run your central heating and AC because the mercury will get into that and will be spread throughout your house. Not on just one website but on most of the websites i looked at. The State of Maine published a big study they did of these hazards after one of these bulbs broke in a Maine woman's house in her 7 year old daughter's bedroom and she called a government agency for advice and she was advised not to let her child be in the vicinity of the area where the bulb broke (on carpet). The woman learned that it would cost a lot of money to have her home decontaminated. She asked the state to do it at their expense and they did, but not until after this became a news story on TV. The reason you're not supposed to let small children near the area is because they are lower to the ground and will end up breathing more of it. Also you are not supposed to let pets go into the area. Good luck keeping your cat or dog away from a part of your living room, especially if it's one of their favorite places. Before had googled this and read these things, my dog had already gone back there. i can't begin to say how angry i am about this, no warnings on the packaging. Just on the web, after the problem has occurred. i used to do yoga in that room in the mornings, stretching and deep breathing. But if you're not supposed to go near it if you are a small child or pet, because you are too close to it by being low to the ground, so much for deep breathing while sitting on the floor.I say all this to contextualize how much i now adore incandescent bulbs which i used to take for granted, and i am really happy to be able to buy them at Amazon now that i can't get them at the drug store. These particular bulbs are great. They are long lasting and have just the right amount of light. I invested in a whole bunch of them, and am stocking up on other kinds. i am so glad incandescent bulbs are still available and in my experience, these particular bulbs, FE 30/70/100, work great and are exactly what i want.

I bought two 3 way bulbs. One only lit on 70 watts. 30 and 100 were burned out. The other burned out on the 30 and 100 watts within a few days. Customer service refunded my money.
