Love the taste - not the price increase
This spice used to be much cheaper. I don't know what happened. Haven't bought it in a long while because of that. But it is really good, really yummy and it even makes sense in a holistic diet since it gives you all 5 elements ( according to TCM). It is very versatile. I put it into my drinks with coffee or cocoa... or on different dishes.

Super tasty spice
A friend of mine recommended a recipe using this spice. I wasn't sure I'd like it - mostly because it contained star anise which reminds me of licorice - which I cant stand. We first made a whole chicken using a glaze with this 5 spice. The glaze seemed to smell good. We smoked the chick and OMG - so good. Its the best chicken I've ever had and we love love love it.

Great with apple butter!
I added it to an apple butter gravy recipe and taste was perfect! Thanks to all the previous reviews, that’s why I tried it. Great addition to my spice rack!
