These Will Get You Rockin' Again!
I spend 8-10 hours a week in my yard walking behind a mower. It's great exercise, I love being outside and it's my best chance to listen to music for 2+ hours at a clip. I use a little Yard Machine mower - it provides a great cut and it's such a reliable mower, but it is noisy. I had my first experience with these headphones this week - UNREAL! Early on, I had to pull the headphones away from my ear a time or two to make sure the mower was actually working - really! These things muffle out the noise to perfection. I tucked in a pair of earbuds so I could listen to my music and once again, I was able to hear all of the subtlety and nuance of the tunes. In the past, I have really had to crank up the volume to hear somewhat over the mower. Not only did that add distortion and still leave the mower engine revving over it, it was starting to impact my hearing as a result. Now, I can be back at a reasonable volume level and hear my tunes kind of like I did in those bygone days when I sat in front of a receiver with big headphones on.There are other headphones on Amazon which sell for a lot more. Thanks to other reviewers, I gave these a shot and I am glad I did. They are comfortable and they do what they say. I love to mow and I love to listen to all of my favorite musicas I do. With these headphones, it's a whole new experience for me. Love them!

Pleasantly Surprised
Initially I purchased this because of my "thrifty" nature and planned on only using them as a backup until I was able to find my more expensive set that had been misplaced. To my surprise they block noise well and are comfortable to wear.I spend about 3-4 hours a week on my riding mower. I wear a wide brim hat to block the sun and this set allows the head strap to swivel and be on the rear of my head instead of over the top - there is enough pressure built into the headset that it stays in place and my hat still fits properly. This set will now be my go to hearing protection.AND it is red in color - easier to spot when misplaced in my mess.

larger size and behind head
These are a larger size ear muff that does not squeeze your head like a vice. With that means they don't suppress noise as good but that is OK for my use. They are comfortable for long term use. And they can be worn behind head so I can use face shield in my work, cutting and grinding. UPDATE ____6/17/20. I don't know why some of the reviews about these say they are tight on your head. I ordered these in 2016 and ordered two more recently. I was worried they had changed the design to make them smaller. But I just received the two new ones today and as far as I can tell they are identical to the 2016 one. So either some of the reviews are wrong or they are shipping different designs out. I am pleased with the old one and the new ones I got today. PS, I have a 7 5/8" hat size, not a small head.

Too small
Too small, did not completely fit over my head.I feel like this is a typical internet issue, where these products can't be sold in stores, because people would try them on and put them back on the shelf.

really good for kids!
These are wonderful! We have a 6 year old with central auditory processing disorder, and they highly recommend headphones, which we've had for years, but she has recently started complaining about the headphones hurting her ears - she wears earrings, and hates anything that squeezes. These are perfect as the ear opening is much larger and able to accommodate her entire ear with none of the foam area touching her ears or earrings. Because of this they feel more comfortable. The band also gives a secure fit without squeezing her head, which tends to give her headaches. Really good design, good function, and GREAT price!

Works but may be worth it to pay a bit more for something nicer
Bought these as a quick cheap pair to get beaten up at the shooting range. Compared to some of the other Howard Leight stuff that I own, these things are pretty cheap quality. I guess you get what you pay for. The biggest problem was that they don't grip very well to the head so both me and my wife had times where there was a gap somewhere and sound was not being completely muffled. We replaced them with nicer models and they have since been delegated as the loaner pair.In short - they work, they block a good amount of sound, but they don't always work very well.

Great Muffs
I've had a pair of these for over 10 years and they work great for shooting as well as operating power tools and other noisy devices. They work just as well as the much more expensive muffs, and they are relatively lightweight and very inexpensive. The weak point in the design is the headband... pressure cannot be adjusted... so they are a bit tight at first, but quickly break in and get more comfortable. If you are an occasional shooter, who shoots for 1/2 hour or so, these are fine. If you want something with adjustable tension get the $20 muffs with the steel double-wire headband... you can bend that to whatever shape and pressure level you prefer, and it will stay that way forever. I like these cheap ones fine, and just bought a second pair for my boyfriend, who's a new shooter.

I highly recommend these. My son hates loud noises and situations ...
My son's teacher bought a pair of these for him to use at school and they work so well that we bought a pair to keep at home. For any child struggling with attention issues or sensitivity to sound from ASD or Aspbergers, I highly recommend these. My son hates loud noises and situations at school such as the gym or cafeteria that tend to get very loud. So many kids are wearing them now, that the other kids don't seem to notice or care. These would also be great for children who have a hard time with fireworks or are shooting with Cub Scouts, etc...
