So Tired Of The Uninformed Leaving Reviews
First of all, HEAVY METALS ARE NOT MAGNETIC. (some)Steel, Iron, Nickle and Cobalt are the big four magnetic metals and the heavy metals...Lead, Arsenic, Plutonium, etc. for heaven's sake, ARE NOT MAGNETIC. What is causing the "magnetic metal filings" like look on the scoop...IS STATIC ELECTRICITY, because when the matcha is milled to a fine, dry powder it gets a static charge. If the people leaving the bad reviews about "heavy metals" had put their phones down in science class they would know this. And FYI, this tea clearly states it is 3rd party tested for heavy metals. Secondly, this is CULINARY GRADE, NOT ceremonial matcha, so you should not expect it to look or taste like expensive matcha. It's like expecting Asti Spumante to taste like Cristal Champagne. You will pay a LOT more for the high end wine, and the high end matcha. And just like putting a $500 (or even a $100) bottle of wine into spaghetti sauce is a total waste, it's the same for $$$$ matcha. That's where a matcha like this comes in! This is certified organic, first spring harvest, non-GMO, etc., a great value, and IT IS PERFECT FOR MIXING into other things. Like making those popular fat, fruit, and sugar bomb Charbuck's style lattes all the influencers rave about, making tasty desserts (Matcha Flan) or baking into delicious muffins, cakes, cookies, or my favorite, Biscotti. It adds a lovely green color and fresh matcha flavor notes to your mixed drinks and foods. This is perfect for those uses and you can add as much or as little sugar to it as you like, unlike the latte "mixes" that are for sale, which are usually 50% sugar. Micro Ingredients DOES sell a very tasty Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha Powder, and it is a really nice daily drinker for those of us who like tasting their matcha. I really like Micro Ingredients products, I use quite a few of them, and this culinary ingredient matcha is one I enjoy using a lot!

THE SPICKY APPEARANCE ON SCOOP IS STATIC ELECTRICITY, NOT HEAVY METALS!
This matcha is delicious and a great price! I’ve only tried a few different brands to date, but this one is my favorite so far, and my family can actually afford to drink it daily (unlike most other matcha brands). I even tried it against a much more expensive brand, and that one had a more bitter taste and wouldn’t blend fully (aka clumping). To those people saying there are heavy metals in this matcha because of the spiky appearance of the matcha it sometimes has when you scoop it out…that is NOT heavy metals. That is from static electricity buildup, which gives the Matcha an appearance of “spikes” forming on the plastic scooper. The static electricity is generated during the grinding process and from vibrations during storage. This is especially true for high-quality, finely ground matcha. To mitigate this, sifting the matcha before use is recommended. Here's why and how:Fine powder:Matcha is ground into an extremely fine powder, making it prone to static buildup.Friction:The grinding process itself generates static electricity as the tea leaves are ground between stones.Vibrations:Even during storage and transportation, vibrations can cause static electricity to build up within the container.

This is a better quality matcha than what is used at Starbucks!
This product is better than the matcha powder mix used at Starbucks! Starbucks uses a 51% sugar mix with questionably sourced matcha/sencha making up the other 49%. It has no tea flavor as it's basically just sweetened milk. If you've come to matcha through the Starbucks lens, this is NOT that product. It's what you should be drinking instead! When I've tried to get matcha powder locally at the grocery store, I've not been able to find one that is the same quality as this in such a value size quantity. For size reference, I'm pretty sure this size bag could last one person 3mos even if they were drinking a matcha latte everyday. This matcha here packs a bolder flavor, a better boost of energy, and more mental clarity without the crash that you'd have from coffee. It is unsweetened, which gives you the freedom to make the final product (latte, smoothie, whatever) as sweet or unsweet as you like. The powder is ULTRA fine, and is about the consistency of powdered sugar. It dissolves wonderfully in a few ounces of the liquid of your choice (I prefer oatmilk), and it suspends very nicely and does not sink to the bottom when at rest for a few moments. All around highly recommend. Unless you're Japanese and have had that real good stuff and would know the difference, this is probably good enough for most people.

Very good matcha
I have tried before Matcha teas that I bought directly from Japan and this one is up there with the best.Since is not written on the package or description that this is "ceremonial grade", I was expecting a bit of bitterness or fishy flavor, but to my surprise there is none.I tried it even straight with just hot water and it tastes smooth, something that the majority of the Matcha teas do not, they always have a bit of bitter/weed flavor that makes them unpleasant to drink unless they are mixed with something.I had tried before their "culinary" grade Matcha and it was good but had all those flavor characteristic of most matcha, this version which is called "premium first harvest" is definitely better for just a small increase in price and much less pricey than other Matcha that are defined Ceremonial grade. Also, it mixes super well with water and lattes of various kind.

Good value but a bit too sweet for me
Good, but a little sweet for my tastes compared to ceremonial-grade alternatives. However, this product was much cheaper/oz than the others. It may be to your taste.
