I had so much trouble eating this and it stayed basically uneaten in my pantry until I started adding it to my morning smoothie. Absolutely delicious! It tastes very similar to the açaí super antioxidant smoothie from Jamba Juice.

Dabur is the most well-known and established brand in India. They have a range of Ayurvedic products and the entire country trusts it since it was the only one available till 30 years ago. That's how we grew up. I had it, my dad had it, and my mom too.As for the benefits of this formula, it was discovered 2000 years ago (maybe earlier), and has been used for 100s of generations. The ancient Hindus figured out the right combination of herbs to lead a healthy life. And even though science was not as developed back then, the formula has gone through several iterations and established itself as the most time-tested one.As for the choice you need to make, choose a brand that uses pure ingredients. Use it as a daily medicine. It is slightly sweet and has a strong smell, but it can be mitigated with milk or just water. Our parents used to feed it to us using warm milk. Dabur is a company based in India established in 1956. Just make sure that the product you are buying is genuinely from this company - there are many companies trying to exploit its name selling fake products.

Arrived in good shape. Taste/texture is good and strong and authentic. Wish it were it in a glass bottle, but that’s my preference, nothing wrong with the product.

Chyavanprash is one of Ayurveda's most treasured foods. It is used as a general food to nourish the entire system, but in particular the nervous system. It is also an adaptogen which helps the body cope with stress, and an immune modulator. It is safe for all ages. It can be consumed year around. I take mine at bedtime, mixed into a mug full of warm water, as it will curdle milk. This particular brand is excellent. It dissolves readily and it is delicious. The taste includes all 5 flavors. If you are not accustomed to Indian spices you may find the flavor distasteful at first, but it will grow on you and the benefits of this product will want you to continue taking it. I find that this product, specially in the winter is very calming and seems to take the brittleness out of my skin. I order 6 jars at a time as it keeps a long long time without going bad. I found a jar in the back of my pantry that was dried out due to careless sealing on my part. I added a little water, and it reconstituted itself. It was fine, no difference from a new jar. The expiration date is for the benefit of the FDA. In India there are no expiration dates on products. Don't throw out your product if it goes beyond the expiration date. It is still safe.

This contains sodium benzoate as an ingredient... GROSS. They should disclose they're putting preservatives in their product.

My husband recommended this. It has a very unique taste but if you look at the ingredients there are so many herbs and spices that give you incredible health benefits. It is a wonderful alternative to jam if you can get used to the taste. My husband said it's 6,000 year old formula that has been very effective for many people!
