Great Product does exactly as advertised!
I bought this after seeing numerous reviews and video's on this. The best part is the construction, it's all steel 1 molded piece! You can sharpen with a file and it holds the edge very well. It is very easy to use.Put the wood in and pound away and it makes smaller and smaller kindling for a fireplace. I bought this because I was tired of paying money for kindling and I can make my own. I sat in the garage and pounded maybe 4 or 5 pieces of wood and not a problem, made quite a good batch of fatwood for my wood burning stove. I will eventually mount this to a stump I have and make tons of fatwood and let it dry further for perfect fire starting. I don't find this hard to use and even my wife had fun and thought it was clever and she is not that strong. I even pounded some oak in there and it split it easy. Great idea and I wish I found this earlier!Highly Recommend. Don't buy the cheap knockoffs, buy the official Kindling Cracker you'll love it!

Way better than expected!
This is a review for the Kindling Cracker Firewood Kindling Splitter by Kindling Cracker.I bought this as a humorous Christmas gift for my son. Once he took off the fancy bow, naturally we had to go play with it straight away. A half hour later and we're back inside with armloads of kindling. The splitter works perfectly and is even better than advertised. I've had fireplaces and wood stoves for my entire life, and figure I've seen every kind of splitter and maul by now. I had expected the Kindling Cracker to be good, but how could it be much of an improvement on what's already out there? Well, surprise, surprise - it's good and better. I couldn't be happier with this thing and here's why: I haven't been able to split kindling for a few years because of a bum shoulder, but today I discovered that with the Kindling Cracker I'm able to split SINGLE HANDED (with my trusty 4# Stanley sledge) all the kindling I'm in the mood for. I can even do it sitting down. This turned out to be a huge surprise gift for me because I never expected that I'd be able to split wood again. My son loves it, too, and the only downside is now we have to take turns.Clean design, bullet-proof, super stable. The round top makes comfortable in the hand to carry.Edit: I just bought an Estwing MRF3LB 3-Pound Sure Strike Fiberglass Drilling Hammer and it works even better than the Stanley for me.If this review was helpful, please click "yes" below. Thanks and happy cracking!

Log splitter
Solid item that does the job. Splits wood. It’s currently outside and ready for cold weather. Sharp enough to split and just the right size to make small strips for the sauna. Good design and has not rusted yet.

Should have purchased the XL version, but it works on smaller logs / pieces of wood
Most firewood you purchase has about 50/50 chance of fitting within the small-ish diameter of the top ring. Whatever you do, if any sides of the log are touching the round edge (after trying to center it), start over with a smaller log. The splitter does indeed split the log, but if it's slightly too large, that now-split log will expand and the log will jam in the ring. Can you get it out? Yes, but not that easily (use a hammer). That said, it works great with smaller logs. And it's much safer than swinging an axe near your hands / fingers as the log is quickly impaled on the cutting blade, as it doesn't move as you strike down on it. Also, It basically 'just' splits one piece of wood into two pieces. Not one piece into 4 or 6, etc. as suggested in the 'after' photos that show a stack of perfect 1 x 1 inch pieces of kindling. One becomes 2, then two become four, etc., just splitting one pice of wood at a time. Am I happy with it? Yep, it works; just lower your lumberjack-level of expectations.

You will NOT be disappointed
This is amazing!!!! I purchased the one that was about $89.00. We order about 2 truck loads of wood for the cold months January and February. My husband is on oxygen now and so the dreaded task was going to be mine...I'm not good with and axe and hatchet which is how my husband cut wood for our small wood stove. This is a true gem!!!! It takes more energy to open a pill bottle than it does to cut kindling thanks to this kindling cracker. We sat in our chairs today and took turns cutting kindling...YES, we sat in our chairs and actually enjoyed playing with this amazing kindling cracker...I'd go out and buy a wood stove just for the sake of cutting kindling without breaking a sweat...heck, it could be an easy side job lol. I know it's late August, but I'm looking forward to January so I can cut kindling. This did not disappoint. Worst case senerio I would have to return it. I hit it 2 times with a male and I could hear the wood crack by the 3rd hit I had 2 pieces of kindling....mind you I was sitting down and my husband could use the kindling cracker and he's on oxygen 24/7

Ingenius
Based on description this looked about right for making small splits I need for my smoker. Spot on, getting too old to swing a mull and split wood accurately. I wanted to split off the bark, and leave 2”x2” pieces. Very easy to accurately place the wood, then simply drive through with small sludge hammer. The teen girl that invented this is a genius. This is perfect for either making kindling, or your necessary smoker splits.
