Q: I have birds in my room. Is this also safe for them?

Not safe for birds based on research. We have pets and young kids, then carefully looked at the ingredients: Silver Nitrate complexants and stabilizer 1%, Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate 1.67%, Filtered Water 97.33%. Here is what we found on the internet about the “natural ingredients”, “food grade’ claims. Based on the quick search on Wikipedia, the bottle really should be labeled “Hazardous” based on the ingredients. These don’t read as “Food Safe” either. Silver Nitrate: “As an oxidant, silver nitrate should be properly stored away from organic compounds. … silver nitrate is still very toxic and corrosive. Long-term exposure may cause eye damage. Silver nitrate is known to be a skin and eye irritant. Silver nitrate has not been thoroughly investigated for potential carcinogenic effect.” Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate: “Copper sulfate (turns blue color in water) is produced industrially by treating copper metal with hot concentrated sulfuric acid or copper oxides with dilute sulfuric acid. Copper sulfate is an irritant. The usual routes by which humans can receive toxic exposure to copper sulfate are through eye or skin contact, or inhaling… Skin contact may result in itching or eczema. Eye contact with copper sulfate can cause conjunctivitis, inflammation of the eyelid lining, ulceration, and clouding of the cornea… It has harmful effects especially used around young kids … “Repeated or prolonged inhalation of the aerosol may cause effects on the lungs. Ingestion may cause effects on the liver.” It is clear that seller/manufacturer is using toxic unnatural ingredients and definitely not food safe.

Q: Where is the manufacturer's website? where is the msds and the list of ingredients? how can anything be "food safe" without ingredients? "trust me."

From the bottle, I read not for human or animal consumption, the package it came in says they “ use only the highest quality food grade silver and copper ions, complex-ants and stabilizers ?? Here are the ingredients listed on the bottle Silver Nitrate complex ants and stabilizers..1% Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate( Highly Diluted…1.67% Filtered Water97.33%. My guess is this is not food safe….as to consume!

Q: Does this product help with white dust?

No, it doesn't. I changed back to the distilled water. It never helps no matter how many drops I put in the tap water.

Q: Will I still need to clean my humidifier?

The Humidifier Drops were designed as a maintenance solution. Based on customer experience, they will prolong the time between cleaning cycles but not eliminate cleaning all around. Depending on the hardness of the water in the area of the country you live in, you could clean your humidifier up to three times less often.
