This is such a delicious product. Being French myself, when I grew up in France, my family used to eat chestnut cream. That’s where and when I developed a taste for it. So when I saw I could find it on Amazon, I jumped on the opportunity. Well, am I glad I did. This reminded me of my youth and I can attest t9 the fact that it is as good as I remembered it. Not too sweet, not too liquid, just perfect, simply exquisite. I like to use it for dessert. If you are a chestnut lover like me, you should try it, you won’t be sorry you did.

I bought this to have with some La Fermiere yogurt, in an effort to recreate their chestnut yogurt that was out over the holidays. I was able to do so successfully with this cream. I’m so excited, because I can have it year round now. I look forward to baking with this as well.I tried it on it’s own. The texture is a bit like a smooth nut butter. It’s got a warm flavor, due to the chestnut, and the vanilla smooths it out in my opinion. It’s sweet like a dessert, but not super sweet. It’s a good sized jar, and a little goes a long way, so I think it’s a good value. I definitely want to get this again.

(Update Below) Although the product tastes fine, I spent quite a bit on 2 JARS of an expired items and I can't return or get a refund. $30 gone.....The company was fantastic and offered a Full Refund, I understand these things happen and that was great of them. I will purchase from them again.

The flavor is not what I expected, but the customer service is the best after purchasing. I will keep watching the product from this seller.

I feel like they have blended the broken candied chestnuts into a very sweet paste. And they did it without draining the sugar syrup. There is still some texture however the syrup is too much to feel it. If you use one spoonful and spread it over a croissant you might enjoy it. However, that is enough sugar enough for a whole week. Don’t get me wrong I consume sugar in large amounts but this one is not worth it for the taste or the money.

... the best-by date was 14 months prior to receipt; that was irritating. Sugar is the 1st ingredient so I trusted the sugar will prevent bacteria and tried it; Still alive. Good chestnut taste but a bit too sweet; can be mixed with other stuff which is what I do. Three-stars instead of 4 or 5 because of these combined reasons: 1) Sugar a bit much and 2) Best-buy date was 14 months before receiving.

Expired for more than one year when I received it.
