You probably need to buy this coat rack immediately.
This is one part review, two parts life lessons and one part my highest recommendation of "buy this immediately".The product is good, and the price is great. This coat rack is much more sturdy than I expected for only $22, even if it is made from plywood. It's a great size to fit in any small space and keep your hanging things organized. I measured 18 inches from the wall with two feet touching the wall, but you should leave about 20 inches because the coats can hang into the nearby space. (See picture, ignore cat.) As a demonstration, I have two bags hanging from one side with only a light jacket on the other (See picture). This could easily tip over a coat rack. Both bags have plenty of stuff, but one has a massive Lenovo ThinkPad laptop inside, and the bag is hanging as awkwardly as possible, on the highest pole and sticking out nearly to the edge of the feet. It's the worst way to hang a heavy bag, yet the coat rack isn't tipping over. It's not happy, but you usually hang coats on coat racks, not multiple heavy laptops only on one side. When I hang bags like a sane person, so the heaviest part sits against the middle of the coat rack and the bag isn't at the absolute top, it's super stable. Even with my cat running through the house like a maniac, this is the one tall thing she can't seem to knock over. Other reviewers show the coat rack with huge piles of stuff, but it still easily holds heavy bags great with nothing else weighing down the other side. Now for some random quick thoughts about the actual product. It's got three feet, which makes it super easy to sweep under it without moving it, and it never cares if your floor is uneven. It has slightly confusing instructions, because the parts aren't labeled clearly, so you have to count the holes in each wooden section. The hangers are attached with metal threaded inserts, so they're easy to screw in. You can choose to leave out one or two pieces if you want a shorter coat rack for some reason. The color in my pictures isn't very accurate, and it's a wood finish so expect color variations. There is a full shade or two of color difference between some of the hangers and the base. Because it's plywood, it's a big lighter than I expected, but the quality of wood grain and finish is totally fine.So why should you buy a coat rack? There are several reasons. Beauty, organization, time saving, stress reduction, and cleanliness. In terms of how much this one item helped my home, it's as effective as some of the most expensive piece of furniture I own. It's hard to explain how important it is to keep piles of bags and jackets off random surfaces and chairs. If you care about having a nice home, you should keep your bags in a specific place, and prevent them from exploding across every surface in sight. And the floor is right out. Please stop leaving your bags on the dirty floor. If I see bags on the floor, I know you don't sweep regularly. You know it too. A "bag drop zone" makes it much easier to actually commit to keeping your home clean, because you avoid the mandatory 15 minutes of moving around bags every time you try to clean. I like this coat rack because three feet mean it's trivial to sweep under the whole thing without even moving it. It keeps my bags and floor cleaner. If you don't have a nice place to hang bags, you're missing out on a more organized home that looks much prettier. Rule #1 of staying organized is that every item must have a place it belongs. You can't be organized if you never know where your bag belongs. I imagine someone is arguing that the dining room chair is where their bag belongs, but they don't realize that the difference between being lazy and having style is simply how intentional your decisions looks to outside observers. A random chair? You're a slob. A cheap coat rack? You have style. Make sure visitors to your home instantly know where to take off their shoes and hang their jacket, and put your own stuff there. Your home will look much closer to a fancy designer home, because interior design is all about being intentional. Having a dedicated place for your things is one of the easiest ways to keep your personal space looking nice, even while you live your regular daily life. It takes 10 extra seconds to hang your stuff on a coat rack instead of dumping it on a chair, but it makes your home look 10x better. Find a dedicated space to store your bags, jackets, umbrellas, scarfs, and everything else you bring outside.Plus, there are other benefits. It saves you time and stress when getting ready to leave, by building better life habits. Always putting things in the same place means you never run around looking for your stuff when you're trying to walk out the door. Then, the visible reminders help you avoid walking outside and forgetting something. Need to return something to the store? Hang it on a bag on your coat rack. You'll get into a routine of looking at your coat rack before leaving, which means it's almost impossible to forget something you leave on your coat rack. Now that I have a coat rack, I'm forgetting my rain coat way less often, and that's pretty important in Seattle.Seriously, get a spot to drop your bags. I bought this coat rack because i live in an apartment, so drilling holes in the walls to hang stuff isn't an option, and I don't have space for a large piece of furniture to hang my stuff by the door. This option is small, easy to move if I decide I want it somewhere else, and I can always throw it in my closet to keep stuff organized if I decide to change how I organize my stuff. It's really hard to find many other $20 items that have such a big positive big impact on your life. If not this coat rack, then get some wall mounted hanging spots or a entryway wardrobe or something. Get organized. It's not rocket science.

Firm and sturdy!
This rack when you open and assemble it may look like it can’t hold anything but it is well made and sturdy. You can hang a heavy coat or heavy bath towel and it won’t topple over. I’m glad I got this for my guest room.

Great Clothing Rack for the Price
I wanted something to put in the corner of my bedroom for sweatshirts and lightweight jackets that I wear on a daily basis, and this clothing rack was the perfect solution. It was really easy to assemble and seems to be of good quality. The wood is nice, although a bit rough in a few places. The only issue I have is that the base is a bit small, so it can be thrown off balance if you hang items that are heavier on one side of the rack. Overall, I'm happy with it and would recommend it.
