We recently bought a house built in 1973, and the door knobs within were old and horrible, and being dated, the core knob holes were too small to accept a modern door knob. After a quote of $6000. to replace all 11 interior doors, I found this $35. gem on Amazon. A little learning curve, but soon I nailed all 11. Total cost, $35 for the jig and about $24 a door for new knob and hinges. =$299. total cost to upgrade nicely! A savings of $5700. Buy this thing.

This jig is well built for a plastic jig . The reason I gave it 4 stars is because --virtually no instructions . The jig has two black plastic rings , one for the lock hole saw and one for the bolt hole saw. Both of these pop out to adjust for your particular door width and lock off set so be sure you set both rings for your door width and off set and those numbers appear in the view window of the rings. The widths and offsets are labeled on the rings. This width set on the small hole saw plastic ring is important to center the hole saw for the bolt . 1 3/4" door width, set small hole saw ring for this width. if you set this for 1 3/8 and you are clamped on a 1 3/4" door your bolt hole will be wrong . There are some good vids on youtube that I suggest you watch on this jig , set up, tips and how to adjust the jig as I mentioned above.

I used this to instal 2 dead bolt locks in my front and garage door…..this worked very well and was easy to follow the instructions
