Buy this tool first! Made the mistake of buying the cheaper brand and instantly regretted it. Spent the money on this one and it is incredible. Gets rid of fret sprout and rounds the frets perfectly. I am a huge fan of Music Nomad.

Great Fret Maintenance Tool
Picked this up to trim fret ends to file down fret sprout that occurred as result of seasonal change. Worked great - no damage to side of fretboard. Good weight for smooth movement up and down fretboard. I was even able to use it with strings on. Good value, ease of use and quality. If you own several guitars, a must have in the toolbox👍.

Effective. Pricy but worth it for what it does.
This block file works quite well. This was my first crack at filing my frets. It took the ends down pretty fast. First, I used the 90-degree file slot to even the fret ends with the fingerboard. Then, I filed the fret ends using the 35 degree position to make them feel smoother on my hand. I found that I had to go over each fret end with a small fret end hand file to round the ends and touch up some of them. I have to say, it is so nice to be able to do this myself. It's kind of expensive for a hunk of wood and a file, but its function makes it well worth the money.

Works great and is easy to use!
I had a guitar neck with bad fret sprout, 3-4 passes and the job is finished. Did a little touch up with a fret file and was good to go.

Works exactly as advertised
Handled fret sprout perfectly. Additional fret end rounding with other tools was needed to finish the job, but this tool absolutely did the bulk of work effortlessly and with precision.

Excellent tool
I waited until I really used this before reviewing. Purchased because I was already pushing my guitar tool budget and needed to save some money, so I chose this over the more expensive StewMac file. I'm so happy with it!! the angles are perfect, the included file is sharp and quality, the slots are big enough to put any other file in too if you want. It's comfortable and very nice looking. Just great, I love it when the more affordable option over-delivers.
