It may help to push it but it works best when the lens is centered in order to remove it. When they fold over it is in a tight area of the eye cavity which might be impossible to get the end of the wand enough lens to pinch. The Optiwand pincher has an end which is slightly larger that may work better. If you cannot feel where it is you should contact your optometrist for assistance in removing it
