It may help to push it but it works best when the lens is centered in order to remove it. When they fold over it is in a tight area of the eye cavity which might be impossible to get the end of the wand enough lens to pinch. The Optiwand pincher has an end which is slightly larger that may work better. If you cannot feel where it is you should contact your optometrist for assistance in removing it

Yes it is hollow. Clients can stand it up on a table and place lens into the U shaped or split end up where it will hold the lens while you fill fluids like in the main image for the OptiWand. Then you can lower down with eyes wide open to insert while holding the tube. Our OptiWand Pincher is longer and is identical to use which some prefer as well.
