Really love this little Lego kit, I did struggle a little with the placement with some of the flowers, there is a little space on the top to fit them all in and very little wiggle room to get them to fit together but I got there eventually. And looks fab. A fair price, and the bricks do go together nicely, the ones with graphics are already done so no unsightly stickers you have to try and get straight which improves the overall look and quality of the build

Love this pretty wee toy

Got this for my daughter (12 at time of review) as she enjoys her Lego and this looked to be something a bit different to build. She did comment with box being marked as 6 +, she would be surprised if the lower end of the age range could cope with it, as some stages were very fiddly to get them to hold together.To anyone used to building Lego, the instructions format will feel very familiar, with the stage by stage graphic construction, along with the numbered bags. We did note on a couple of occasions there was most of the bits for a page of construction but a piece or two was in the next bag, so probably makes sense to open them by the main number.On some pages it was difficult to distinguish which of the similar shades of colour you were supposed to be using, especially some of the greens.We built it between us, both regarding ourselves as being fairly competent Lego builders, we found the turtle itself fairly straight forward, however when we got to the flowers it became a bit frustrating as there is a lot going on in a small place and pressing the next flower in often dislodged its neighbour, not helped by the turtle having legs at this stage so not the most stable surface to add pieces to. We ran out of time on our first session after about an hour and a half, with half the flowers still to go, so maybe another half an hour to complete.The quality of the pieces all seemed good, generally pushing together as tightly as Lego does, with no deformed pieces that you sometimes get in the cheaper Lego copies. A generally well designed product that resulted in a solid and effective model, though with all the flowers, a bit fragile.It all combined to make an effective model turtle with a colourful array of flowers on its back, plenty of bright colours in the parts. You do need patience and steady hands for the flowers, and expect younger children to need a fair bit of help!

Great quality - exactly like the main brick brand.Easy to follow instructions, straightforward to assemble, looks great and value for money compared to others.

My 7 year old daughter enjoyed building this set. She did find it slightly more complicated than she usually does with the well-known block sets but she was still able to follow the instructions and build it.The finished set looks really nice, i think if you enjoy this kind of thing, you'll enjoy making this one.

My grandkids love all things Lego and building bricks so anytime I get offered this type of thing on the Vine programme I jump on it . This kit says it is for 7/8/9 . The picture on the box makes it look like its really large pieces more akin to 'Duplo' size where as in fact most of the pieces ( which you cant see when its finished ) are actually standard 'Lego type ' size . My 12 year old grandson did it and he really enjoyed it . My granddaughter is 7 and he said she would not be able to do it . Depends on your child I suppose . The outer pieces are bigger pieces but there is a lot of the building you cannot see when it is finished and they are all smaller pieces. Looks really cute when finished and he loved it . Said some of the pics were a bit fiddly but he did in in just over an hour. He called his tortoise Geoffrey :-) . Lovely little kit but just bear in mind may be bit fiddly for younger children

I've had a number of sets from this company and I have to say, they have always been really good, and I can safely say that I have faith in the Millionspring brand with regards to the quality of builds.The instructions are always well laid out, and I have to admire how they circumvent all the licencing issues around some of their sets, which are clearly based on existing Hollywood IP.This set to me is a little more generic, but the building process is fun, and the end result is a very displayable set that adds variation the the plethora of plant based builds.I've knocked a star off as the price of £29.99 seems a little high, even when you compare it to the big brother brand of Lego. Nonetheless, there always seems ways to whittle down the price with discount codes etc, so if on offer, it makes a nice choice in the brick community.
