Better instruction

The purchase of this JM bricklayer kit was a total waste of money because when you’re trying to put the mask up, they like to fall apart as you’re adding stuff on them a total waste of time and money it does not even warrant giving a star

We have quite a few pirate ships now and this is definitely at the top as far as quality goes.-It came in well packaged and in perfect shape with no missing pieces.-The pieces are in numbered bags that go with that same numbered step.-The instructions are well organized and easy to follow. They give you good views of where the pieces go and don’t have you add too many at a time.-The finished ship matches the listing photos very well.-It is definitely a build for older, more advanced builders.Overall I would say this is a great addition to any builders ship collection.

The JMBricklayer Pirate Ship Building set was not one of the best ship building experiences I've had - I always struggle with the sails. But it looks good when complete!

There's a lot to love about this brick set.The instructions are pretty clear. The bags are numbered and pretty well organized. I was short one 2x2 black brick in the first bag, but I some Lego on hand and subbed one in. They are the same size as Lego. The brick quality isn't quite as good - they're a little softer, snapping the pieces together is a little more difficult and I don't love the little divot on one of the pips on each brick.What I do love is the lighting kit that comes with this set. The instructions for the lights are integrated into the build instructions and the lighting kit itself seems sturdier than some of the other lighting kits on the market. The wires are better protected from pinching. The build itself was interesting and fairly complex with some fun little uses for bricks that are out of the ordinary. Overall, fun kit for adult and advanced builders.

Pieces do not interlock as well as Legos. At times you break everything you built trying to get the next piece/pieces installed. The lights are cool but I had trouble with the main bus and power pack and wrote several times to the manufacturer and got absolutely no response. I also had a couple missing bricks and had to find them on a Lego site (luckily the JM Bricklayer part was replaceable with a Lego brick). I wouldn’t recommend this product

The media could not be loaded. This set looks great, the pouches are layed out thoughtfully to keep everything straight, and they didn't cheap out on the instructions. If I had one complaint it would be that the wires on the lights are so very thin, but maybe they had to make them that way to tuck them away between the building blocks.
