I keep this DAO supplement on hand for meals that might be high in histamine, like shrimp, pork, or leftovers. It seems to work alright, but I’ve had noticeably better results with DAO sourced from porcine kidney extract. This version, made from pea sprouts, may be gentler, but in my experience, it’s not quite as potent. Still, it’s helpful for occasional use if your histamine intolerance is more moderate.

This enzyme REALLY helps me with my histamine intolerance , when others didn't do squat. I just wish Solaray made large counts available. You can take this three times a day, which means you would rip through a bottle in 10 days. Womp womp.

I have congestion when I eat fermented foods, red wine and some cheeses. These are not foods I eat regularly so it's noticeable when I get congested from them. I've suspected a histamine issue and was eager to try these. Taken 30 mins before a meal with the offending ingredients did seem to help the congestion and eye itching. It wasn't totally gone but it was >50% gone. Since I eat these foods only occasionally, I think this bottle will last a lot longer than the 10 days you get if you take it like the label says- three times a day. I'd like to try taking 2 capsules and see if I can increase the effect but I'd like to hear from the manufacturer that it's ok to do that first. Bottle was safety sealed and within expiration date. I had no GI upset from taking these. There was no odd smell or taste to the product. It's an OK price for occasional splurge eating but too high for 3 times a day use

This is the 3rd DOA enzyme product I've tried. The other brands used porcine and peas, both of which caused uncomfortable and bad gas. I think maybe the Solaray's enteric coating helped. This product, made from only pea sprouts, was gentler on my stomach and didn't cause gas. I'm unsure how effective it was because I only had 10 days' worth of servings.I'm not giving 5 stars because there are only enough servings to last 10 days if you take one with each meal, as is generally recommended. The bottle is huge, but you only get 30 pills. It seems wasteful, and I'd rather not have to buy this product every 10 days, especially when it's way pricier than other brands.

30 capsules at recommended 3 per day....means one bottle is only good for 10 days?Way over priced and I will look for a better DAO choice.Bottle is about 1/10th used. Very deceptive.

I love how quickly these digestive enzymes went to work. I even appreciate the product for not destroying my stomach. Usually whenever you take things like this, you can have upsets and this did not cost me any. I like the quality of the ingredients and moreover, I like to sleep quality that I have obtained from this supplement.

Finally a DAO I can tolerate!
