Alessi - Replacement Cup for Michael Graves Jug

I love this Alessi cup, so when the glass broke I didn’t know what to do. This replacement fit perfectly.

I can finally enjoy my mugs again!!! After many years of searching, I found genuine glass Alessi inserts for my mug frames. I love these mugs and have owned them for more than 20 years. Alessi is a brand I adore and also had the privilege of working with as a retailer years ago. I own many of their products.

was kinda worried from reading the other reviews that it wasn’t going to fit properly and the glass to be thinner, but that wasn’t the case. Pretty happy about it

Seems like a slight redesign of the bottom (rounded) let’s it slip in and out a little easier.

This replacement glass doesn't fit the products that Alessi claims it does. Supposedly, this is the replacement for at least two distinct products, the ARMUG designed by Rossi and the MGMUG by Michael Graves. Also, I believe, the Cactus Mug.Alas, this is false. It certainly does NOT fit the ARMUG or Cactus mug. Not even close. It's too thin. Simply rattles around in the holder. I have one previous, working glass liner and putting them side-by-side, it's apparent this product isn't correct. The real / original liners sit nice and tight in the holder, you even have to work them back into it with a little effort, after having removed it for cleaning.This product doesn't even touch the metal. "Loose" isn't even the right word. "Unattached" would be better. It's not just that it rattles, it's that it also presents a safety danger. These mugs are, after all, designed to hold hot liquids. The last thing we want is to take a sip of a hot beverage and have the entire thing drop onto our face or body.I have tried to contact Alessi to find the correct replacement. They have ignored every single inquiry. My last resort is that I will have to try calling their phone number in CENTRAL EUROPE at my expense and hope we can understand one another. Judging by their website, however, I'm not hopeful that they even make replacements for their own products.As such, I recommend extreme caution in buying anything from Alessi. Much of it is well designed. But not well constructed or supported in any other way. You'll have something beautiful and expensive -- for a very short while. Then it becomes useless.

I got one of these as a replacement for one I broke while washing it. Bummer. The new one is much more factory made and uniform in profile than the original. The original has a sort of "hand-blown" look to it. Sadly as previously stated in another review, the diameter is slightly less than the original which means that the fit isn't very tight. It loses a lot of it's appeal due to the sloppy fit.
